Care and support for young workers

In May, activities to respond to Vietnamese Workers' Month and Binh Duong provincial Youth Week were organized and deployed by the provincial Standing Committee to the grassroots Youth’s League in the province to coordinate with branches and levels to continue to take care of and support young workers.

Taking care of life

To kick off the Workers' Month, the provincial Youth Labor and Support Center held a qualifying round for a bolero karaoke competition with nearly 100 young workers registering to participate. In 3 qualifying nights, the Organizing Committee select 30 excellent candidates to compete in the semi-finals. The contest is an opportunity for young workers to show their interest in singing and create joy in their spiritual and cultural life. The Center also coordinated to give 30 gifts to young workers in need and established the Youth Connection Club No. 33. The Center is one of the units under the provincial Youth’s Leauge that will accompany the workers in various Workers’ Month activities.

According to the implementation plan of the provincial Youth’s League, the units directly under them organize activities focusing on the content of taking care of the life and spirit of young workers. In which, cultural and artistic activities, sports exchanges in export processing zones and industrial parks are organized; health care is offered; programs are implemented to support and accompany young workers affected by the COVID-19 epidemic; young workers who lost their jobs unexpectedly or had labor accidents are all helped.

In addition, the units actively mobilized and coordinated with businesses inside and outside the area to implement the programs of free market fairs. The district delegation took the initiative organizing visits to give gifts to young workers in difficult circumstances or having labor accidents or occupational diseases. At the same time, the reviewing and proposing are made to award the "Fund to support young people with difficult circumstances in Binh Duong province".

Variety of programs

To implement Vietnam Workers' Month and Provincial Youth Week, the provincial Youth’s League Standing Committee organize programs to accompany and support young workers in hardship. The festival program of "Strengthening youths and young workers" is to praise "good young workers" and organized by the provincial Youth’s League in Tan Uyen town.

Mr. Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth’s League, said that the festival program has many practical activities for workers. At the festival, a market to sell goods at original prices, a booth for interviewing laborers, and awarding funds to support young people in difficult circumstances, giving a dream room to young workers, praising and giving gifts to young workers are held. Secretary of the Youth’s League, branch, the head of the club - team - group of youth workers are included. The festival also includes health counseling, examination and free medicine distribution for the children of young workers. At the festival, the provincial Youth’s League launched the program of "Thousands of gift baskets to share and join hands to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic" continue to support workers after the epidemic.

In such spirit, the provincial Youth’s League organize the program of "Travel of love” - Supporting young workers workers with journeys, bus trips to branches, hostels, dormitory areas... to visit, encourage and give gifts to disadvantaged workers in the localities.

For districts, Youth’s League and its affiliated organize at least one district-level bus ride and launch 100% of the affiliated unions to organize trips to give gifts to disadvantaged workers in the localities. In addition to taking care of the material life, the provincial Youth’s League also focus on improving the spiritual life by organizing singing contests for young workers online and focusing on offering amusement parks, gifts, scholarships, "Weekend playground", and "Happy Sunday" for the children of young workers at the hostels.

Some performance targets in response to Vietnamese Workers' Month and provincial Youth Week:

- 100% of district and towns Youth’s League grassroots, Unions of Agencies and Enterprises, and Youth Supporting Center of the province have the form of mobilization and coordination with businesses inside and outside the areas to implement the programs free market fairs. Besides, at least one of the activities of commemorating and honoring typical young workers and young workers, "Youth Workers' Day", cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports, legal advice, and reproductive health advice service of youth workers in industrial parks should be organized. They should strive to mobilize the establishment of at least on Youth’s League organization, one association organization or club or team or group of young workers in non-State enterprises.

- Districts, Youth’s League, the provincial Youth Unions of Agencies and Enterprises, Youth’s League organizations of 2 rubber companies, of the provincial Public Security, of the provincial Military Command, and the Youth Supporting Center have practical forms of supports for young workers and their children.

- District Youth’s League organizations develop a plan to propagate and mobilize hostel owners to strive to achieve the targets of the youth model hostel as well as the practical meaning of the "Dream Room" to support people in hardship. The League units with a large number of young workers such as Thu Dau Mot city, Thuan An city, Di An city, Tan Uyen town, and Ben Cat town should strive to establish a model hostel, youth and campaign to donate a dream room.
