March 17, Culture and Society Board of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Council led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Giao, Member of Standing Committee, Head of Provincial Party Committee Propaganda and Education cum Head of Culture and Society of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Council, made an investigation of caring and nurturing activities for children under 36 months old at kindergartens and preschools in Di An Town and Thu Dau Mot City.
The attendance of children at non-state kindergartens in Di An Town is approximately 40 children per classroom
In Di An Town, 10 public kindergartens and preschools, 67 licensed non-state establishments, and 107 non-licensed establishments are present. Majority of the establishments have relatively up-to-standard facilities. For the non-licensed establishments, low standard and unsafe facilities are made use of while the caring and nurturing services fail to meet the standards in limited hygiene conditions.
In Thu Dau Mot City, 156 groups of children care are operating with 3,047 children of 36 months old and under among the total 6,272 children being taken care of locally. At licensed private kindergartens, many modern facilities have been built to relatively ensure the demands. Meantime, the remaining establishments have make use of homes as classrooms and non-qualified carers.
Under the investigation, the team has identified limitation and drawbacks to propose for measures of effective caring and nurturing of children under 36 months old.
