Cau Truong commune Women Union now has 918 members at 18 teams. Aside from mobilizing and promulgating sisters to excel the Party and State’s instructions and policies, the union has launched many significant deeds to help members develop economy. The union has steered its branches to offer assistance to needy members.
As of early July 2013, 208 membership households enjoyed loans to develop homebased economy. In addition, the union has mobilized to implement thrift practice. Especially, model of “saving team buys household equipments” helps sisters purchase essential utensils such as computer, TV set and so on.
members help other ones improve income. Typically, Nguyen Thi Trang in Ong Thanh hamlet has opened an outsourcing workshop at her home and placed jobs for 10 young laborers with an income of VND3-4mil per capita per month.
By such deeds, the movement of helping each other develop homebased economy has brought a significance to spur the union’s activities and lure many members to participate in the union.
“In the coming time, the union will set out concrete deeds to help needy members escape poverty”, the union chairwoman Nguyen Thi Toan said. Dang Thi Thu Hang, the union’s members revealed “Earlier, I sold rice vermicelli at Long Binh market in Ben Cat district but that job did not earn much money. In Dec. 2012 I enjoyed a VND75mil loan from the assistance team to open a grocery at home. After nearly 8 months, I have so far refunded the loan and enjoyed a stable living”.
