Morning Jul 29, Capital Aid Fund for Employment of the Poor (CEP) – Cluster No.10 including TDM and Thuan An branch awarded CEP Scholarships and CEP Houses in 2016 at provincial Labor Federation. CEP Scholarships 2016 comprised 111 scholarships worth VND248.5 million, including 56 scholarships from TDM CEP and 55 scholarships from Thuan An CEP. All scholarships were in cash worth VND2.2 to 2.5 million each awarded to poor studious member’s children. CEP also gave CEP House’s logos at the ceremony. This year, the fund built 2 new houses and repaired 6 houses worth totally VND130 million to support poor members without stable accommodation.

Mr. Ho Van Kiep, Director of Binh Duong CEP, said with a commitment to supporting poor CEP members and studious member’s children, this year, through two programs of CEP Scholarships and CEP Houses, CEP disbursed over VND10 billion to grant loans to poor members, help their children to have stable accommodation and continue studying. In the 2016-2017 school year, CEP presented 59,723 notebooks worth VND215 million and 1,945 scholarships worth over VND4.225 billion to children. Total expenditure for 2016 CEP Scholarships was over VND4.4 billion. Also, in 2016, CEP repaired 53 old houses and built 42 new houses for poor families in HCMC and provinces with a total cost of over VND3.4 billion.
Mr. Kiep said, through these voluntary programs, CEP wanted to take care of CEP members with particularly difficult circumstances, and raise CEP staff’s awareness of poverty reduction goals of the organization, join hands with local authorities and unions to take good deeds for the community.
