Phuoc Hung pagoda in Tan An, Thu Dau Mot city has just organized a pilgrimage for 50 Buddhist believers to visit and give charitable gifts at Ngoc Chau Buddhist temple in Soc Trang province.
Nun Le Thanh led the pilgrimage delegation, said “Travel on springtime is a chance for people to visit pagodas as well as to share with miserable people. The journey help us to live for other people”.
The pilgrims gave 250 presents worth VND200,000 each to poor people at Soc Trang province.
Many provincial pagodas also arranged visits to notable temples for Buddhists. Annually, Long Hung pagoda at Tan Dinh of Ben Cat district makes a pilgrimage to notable Linh Son temple at Ba Den mountain of Tay Ninh province.
Long Hung pagoda was constructed by Dao Trung – Trong Hieu Buddhist group from Tay Ninh province. Monk Thich Hong Long Buddhist, who is Head of Long Hung pagoda, said that thanks to charitable donations of Buddhist, the pagoda could set a budget for this kind of activity, which contributed to meaning charitable programs of Linh Son temple.
According to Vietnamese’s tradition, doing charity in the beginning of the year could make our business and life more flowing all year round. Thus, travelling combining with doing philanthropic work is a significant thing to do.
