With the spirit of “Mutual love, mutual affection”, the “Charity rice jar” model of An Phu ward’s Red Cross Society in Thuan An town has upheld its efficiency. It yearly offers help to needy cases, the disabled and gives strength for hundreds of poor-but-excellent pupils.
The “Charity rice jar” model has been launched, maintained by An Phu ward’s Red Cross Society for many years and received enthusiastic response from members. It has been implemented to 6 branches of the society with a goal of assisting poor members, lonely elderly people, the handicapped and orphans. As usual, in early February, the model is animatedly launched by the society and its branches with total money collected from donors that will be used to buy rice for poor and ill cases.

In the first half of 2016 alone, the ward’s Red Cross Society mobilized over 1,630 kg of rice from organizations, individuals for the poor and the disabled. The society also supported notebooks, pens and clothings for needy pupils. For families with extremely difficult cases, the society will give each family 10kg of rice, 1 box of instant noodle together with many other kinds of spice every month.
Many enterprises, namely Bach Tung Joint Stock Company in quarter 1A, My Lan jewelry shop in quarter 3, Lai Uyen petroleum station in quarter 4, Tan Do Lan Company in quarter 3…, have always accompanied the model, contributing to helping needy families and pupils with good academic results.
Nguyen Thi Thao Phuong, Chairwoman of An Phu ward’s Red Cross Society said that thanks to propaganda work well realized, the efficiency of the “Charity rice jar” model has been improved and it has become familiar with members. It has also helped members be closer, contributing to upholding the spirit of “mutual love, mutual affection”.
Possibly seeing, the “Charity rice jar” model of the ward’s Red Cross Society was implemented very efficiently over the past time. The development of the model contributed to promoting noble deeds, helping poor and lonely people, joining hands in ensuring the local social welfare.
The society also teamed up with health centers, youth volunteer squads to provide free medical check-up for the poor and the elderly; maintained loan-rotating, saving groups and many other support models, helping members in economic development…
