Children of immigrant workers: More and more attention is paid

In the everyday life of immigrant workers in the boarding houses, many children struggled to make a living with their parents. The children are enjoying their Full-moon Festival organized by the Association of youths in three domains of the nation at Binh Phuoc B, Binh Chuan, Thuan An. Like many other children, they also want to go to school and need entertainment. While most of the students in charity classrooms are those immigrant children. During the day, they go out to make the living by selling things like lottery, newspapers, magazines, accessories, and scrap metals, then, spend their time in evening charity classrooms. The charity classrooms lack of many facilities and learning aids; however, the atmosphere is full of laughter. However, not all students attend all programs and observe daily attendance. Directly in charge of the charity classroom in address of 1B An Phu of Thuan An Town, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc shares that her classes have more than 40 children and they are often absent because of the living, many of them have to break up their learning due to family problems. As in the case of Nguyen Tran Nghia who follows his parents and grandmother from Dong Thap province to Binh Duong to find a living. Not earning enough to cover living expenses , he has to walk out to earn money money from the little things he sells, thus, absence and being late for classes are often of him. Ngoc adds: When mobilizing the children to classes, many parents are excited; however, some of them have been hesitated because of the time their children in school is not helpful to the family. Mr. Vo Minh Thanh, Deputy Secretary of local Youth's League of Khanh Binh in Tan Uyen District said: "In order to help the poor children continue with their schooling dream, local Youth's League has established children support fund so as to encourage the spirit of learning among them. However, the difficulties remain in low supporting funds which can not be paid to better condition of education". For the past time, children's activities in residential areas have been actively organized. Mr. Truong Trung Hieu, Deputy Secretary of Tan My Youth's League in Tan Uyen District said: Every month, the we gather and organize traditional games and activities for the children to join in.. This is a part of practical project of gathering youths being faraway from home. In addition, the Youth's League in grassroots also organize activities on special days of summers, Tet Holiday, Full-moon Festival, and Children Day when the participating children are offered with gifts to support their life and learning. On the other hand, health care activities on disease prevention and vaccination are also co-held. Nguyen Hong Dao, residing in Residential Area of Binh Phuoc B in Binh Chuan of Thuan An says: "We are very happy to sing and to attend those activities." However, the mechanical increment of population has caused pressure on organization of activities for immigrant children. Reported by Nhu Y – Translated by Vi Bao
