So far, 10 clubs on “Children with HIV/AIDS prevention” have been set up across TDM city. They have been mainly developed in the city’s 4 wards: Hiep An, Phu Loi, Chanh Nghia and Phu Tho where are crowded with many disadvantaged children who early work and earn their living.
Nearly 300 children aged between 8 and 16 now attend the city’s clubs on “Children with HIV/AIDS prevention”. They are orphans, street children and those under the list of poor households. Doan Thi Thu Hong, Deputy Head of the city’s Division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that along with recreational activities, these clubs have organized talk shows and contests, thereby equipping children who early work and earn their living with skills to prevent abuse and HIV/AIDS disease. They have also presented gifts and organized useful playgrounds for these children on the occasion of International Children’s Day, Mid-Autumn Festival…
It is known that the whole province now has 20 clubs on “Children with HIV/AIDS prevention”, mainly in TDM city and Thuan An town where are crowed with immigrants and children who must early work and earn their living.
