Remarkable achievements
Launched with the goal of raising public awareness and responsibility for environmental protection, building green-clean-beautiful urban landscapes, “Civilized Saturday” has quickly become a distinctive cultural practice of Binh Duong. Every Saturday morning, on all the streets, alleys, parks, residential areas..., the image of people participating together in environmental sanitation activities, planting trees... has become a familiar, daily voluntary action. The program has helped transform awareness into action, fostering a civilized lifestyle, expressing the province’s determination to build Binh Duong into a worth-living place.

Notably, after provincial-level ceremony to launch “Civilized Saturday – For a Civilized, Green, Clean, Beautiful, Afffectionate Binh Duong”, around 600 native forest trees were planted in the new city center to enrich the ecosystem and enhance the environment. The province also organized gift-giving and tree-planting activities in Tan Uyen city’s Vinh Tan ward. Simultaneously, agencies and units across 9 districts/cities and 91 communes/wards/townships, along with hamlets and quarters, actively responded to the campaign with meaningful projects and actions.
Following the launch event, provincial Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and Red Cross Society also extended the program to their member organizations and grassroots levels, linking it with national celebrations, anniversaries and local movements. Particularly at the commune, ward, and quarter levels, 9,904 campaign rounds were held; 5,279 public clean-up activities were conducted to remove illegal ads and clean streets, alleys and quarters. All localities implemented waste collection and classification at source as regulated, planted 162,301 trees along roads, parks, public buildings and beautified 676 floral roads…
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), quarters across the province also carried out meaningful public works. The Organization Board of the Project No.02 visited each locality to encourage and promptly commend outstanding contributions.
