Co-working space is one of the models deployed in the world for those who are active in work that requires creativity, business, and investors. For Binh Duong, with the implementation of the Smart City Project, the shared space is a good condition to attract individuals and teams to start innovation and give ideas and solutions for building a smart city.

Model to creativity

According to experts, co-working space is a common workspace model, formed through two core elements: community and utilities. In it, the vital determinant of this model is that managers must create regular interactions and communicate among communities, thereby encouraging the emergence of ideal cooperation opportunities for participants.

In the last few years, the model of co-working space for start-up groups flourished in Ho Chi Minh City. Up to now, the number of executive units participating in this model in the city has increased to more than 40, providing the market with more than 50 points with a total area of ​​more than 30,000m2.

Sharing at the dialogue session "Smart City - Towards Sustainable Development for Asian Cities" in the framework of the Asian Economic Cooperation Forum (Horasis) held in Binh Duong last year , Mr. Anil Bhaskaran, Managing Director Idea Center Architects (India), said that the development of smart cities needs dynamic people and startups, so building co-working space is very useful. Co-working space is not simply a workplace but also to expand the relationship, capture the trend of other industries, especially get the eye of the investment fund network behind co-working space.

According to Mr. Simon Lovegrove, Director of M Health Limited (United Kingdom), through the community of members from many fields, big companies have realized that co-working space is a great place to approach startups and small businesses, shorten the distance of meeting and quickly turn them into their customers.

Giving creative rights to "youth wave"

According to the Department of Science and Technology, co-working space at Binh Duong Center for Community Initiatives and Support for Startups not only provides free space but also provides services and utilities, such as use printers, photocopiers, scanners, meeting rooms, private discussion spaces for all individuals and start-up groups. In addition, the center supports startup teams to connect with a network of advisors, investors and investment funds, develop products to test, improve and commercialize products; At the same time individuals and start-up groups will also be involved in the basic and essential startup training programs in the development process.

At the dialogue session "Empowering the Young Wave" in the 2018 Horasis framework, Ericson Mendoza, a professor at the University of Batangas (Philippines), said that many Asian countries, including Vietnam, have a young population. promises a strong reception of digital orientation in the industrial age 4.0. Therefore, giving creative rights to young people is very important, not only contributing to creating the success for each person but also contributing to the overall success of the business.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Director of Department of Science and Technology, said besides implementing projects and programs for start-up innovation such as the project to support creative start-up in the province, the scheme of digging create, foster and improve creative entrepreneurial capacity; organizing scientific conferences on the "three houses" model (State - schools - entrepreneurs) ... Binh Duong has been promoting the activities of experimental laboratories (Fablab) in universities, colleges in the province and at the Center for Community Initiative and Provincial Startup Support. This solution aims to create conditions for young people to renew their creativity.
