Collectives and individuals actively supporting the vulnerable praised

On the morning of July 14, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with other departments, branches and localities held a conference to review the implementation of the project on supporting children with disabilities to access protection and care services and education in the community in 2019-2025 and the project on replicating the model of Intergenerational Self-Helping Club in the province in 2021-2025.

Currently, 1815 children with disabilities and 92,300 elderly people are residing in the province. With the attention and direction of the Party committees and authorities at all levels, the close coordination between sectors, mass organizations, programs to help children with disabilities and the model of Intergenerational Self-Helping Club in the locality have been implemented effectively.

At the meeting, a number of key tasks were set out in the coming time. The project to support children with disabilities will continue to implement policies according to the province's regulations, develop a network of social support facilities that provide protection, care, and education services for children with disabilities in the community, and continue to consolidate and improve the quality and efficiency of operations.

The project of replicating the Intergenerational Self-Help Club model continue to advise the province to pass a resolution stipulating the level of gifts to wish and celebrate the elderly in the province, in which, proposing to raise the level of gifts for the elderly in the province to be 3-4 times higher than in the previous stage.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee gave 300 gifts to the elderly and disabled children, and rewards from the provincial People's Committee and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to many individuals and groups with achievements in implementing the above projects.
