With a goal for women’s equality and advancement, the provincial Women Union has held significant models to gather sisters and contribute to local socio-economic development.
Assistance for poor women
Nguyen Thi Phuong, vice chairwoman of the provincial Women Union, said the society aimed at poor sisters, ethnic women.
Assisting women is one of key tasks of local Women Union.
The society has launched Day for poor women over the past 5 years to help sisters escape poverty. In addition, the society has opened vocational training classes and job placement for about 4,000 sisters.Thanks to non-interest loans, Le Thi Thanh Hong in Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot town has escaped poverty. At present, Hong has possessed a lodging house area and a grocery.
For goal of “wealth, happy, advanced and equal family”
Building typical families in line with the goal of “wealth, happy, advanced and equal family” is a key issue to enhance women’s role and position in family and society.
To reach the goal, women must have knowledge. Therefore, promulgation to improve women’s awareness has been focused. The society has spared no efforts to spur promulgation and training for local women.
The entire society has set up about 40 clubs with 700 members. The clubs aim at the goal of “building wealth, happy, advanced and equal family”.
Improving capacity for women
The society has gradually improved contents and modes through contests, seminars and meetings to offer promulgation contents in conformity with members.
Therefore, many women have voluntarily joined in the society. The society has really become a common house for sisters.
