Communication activities boosted for World Population Day

Binh Duong provincial Department of Population and Family Planning has just issued guidelines on organizing communication activities in response to World Population Day on July 11. Accordingly, the provincial Department of Population and Family Planning suggested that the health centers of districts, towns and cities should continue to propagate and disseminate guidelines, policies and laws of the CPV, the State, and decisions and directions for population and development work in the coming time such as Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW, Resolution No. 137/ NQ-CP, Vietnam Population Strategy, programs, schemes and plans already approved by the Prime Minister, resolutions of the Party Committee, and action plans of the authorities at all levels.

The units should effectively, synchronously, and effectively organize population communication and education activities at the grassroots level, contributing to synchronous solution of problems of size, structure, distribution, and improvement of population quality and put in a relationship of interaction with socio-economic development in the medium and long term, contributing to the socio-economic growth. The provincial Department of Population and Family Planning also requires units to propagate policies and laws on protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly, encouraging the elderly to participate in activities, propagate and mobilize all young people before marriage to get counseling and pre-marital health check-ups for, first of all, those at high risk, promote communication, education, awareness raising, behavior change on gender equality, non-selecting fetal sex while highlighting the role and position of women in the family and society, strengthening propaganda and ensuring the provision of reproductive health care and family planning services for women in the event of natural disasters and harmful effects of abortion.
