Companionship and sympathy in the midst of the pandemic

Along with supporting activities, sympathy and actions to help each other in the province, in the past few days, Binh Duong has also been supported for the fight against the Covid-19 from other provinces and cities. All of these things show that our Vietnamese people, in difficulties and tribulations, always stand side by side, help each other.

An old man in Le Thuy district (Quang Binh province) brings goods to a gathering place to send to Binh Duong people amidst the pandemic.

Donations to support Binh Duong

Le Thuy district of Quang Binh province is an area that often suffers from many natural disasters, storms and floods every year. During those storms and floods, people of the country in general, including Binh Duong province, often donate money and goods to support people of Le Thuy to soon overcome difficulties and aftermath. This province did not have enough time to fully recover from the floods in 2020, but when they heard that Binh Duong people were fighting against an outbreak, the people of Le Thuy district made donations to Binh Duong for the epidemic prevention control. Each person, each family contributed something, no matter what it is large or small, from self-grow fruits and vegetables, a few bags of dried food, instant noodles etc. to send to people in Binh Duong.

Images of old people or children bring zucchinis, pumpkins or bag of dried fish, box of noodles etc. to gathering places in villages and communes of Le Thuy district to send to Binh Duong made our heart so warm and emotional. Nguyen Thi Hong, Chairwoman of Women's Union of Hung Thuy commune of Le Thuy district said, when she heard local officials call for donations to send to people of Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong, all local residents expressed their agreement on this activity. Hong said: “We went to each house to call for and receive goods, and there were also some locals who knew this news and brought themselves things to gathering places. People in the countryside are mainly farmers, so they contributed many things, from squashes, rice, carrots, beans, melons, dried fish, instant noodles... These are the hearts of Le Thuy's people with a common wish that the South in general and Binh Duong province in particular would soon overcome this pandemic."

From the initial expected quantity of 20 tons, after only three days, due to the enthusiastic support of local people, the quantity of goods received increased to nearly 60 tons. In order to promptly share difficulties with Binh Duong people, two trips carrying 60 tons of goods from Le Thuy people, crossed a long distances and complied with traffic regulations during the epidemic season, then arrived at Red Cross Society of Binh Duong province in Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city, and Binh Hoa ward, Thuan An city in the morning of July 14.

More than a sympathy

At receiving points in Binh Duong, the goods were distributed by Provincial Red Cross in collaboration with Provincial Military Command to some areas in Thu Dau Mot City, Phu Giao District, Bau Bang District, Dau Tieng District to support people in quarantined areas.

Directly receiving support from people of Le Thuy district, Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of Provincial Red Cross, was very touched, because in this difficult time, Binh Duong received resources and donations from localities that the Red Cross had previously supported because of severely effects of floods. This is the heart, shows the love and sympathy of Quang Binh people to Binh Duong during this difficult time. We are very grateful, because all these goods are collected by the people together, each person contributed a little, which contain a lot of love and show the value of mutual affection, sympathy and sharing with compatriots”.

Each sharing gesture is different, but all have the same purpose, which is to contribute to taking good care of the lives of people who are suffering from the epidemic, so that no one is left behind. That is also the motivation and strength for people to overcome the immediate difficult period, and join hands with the authority to stamp out the epidemic.
