Continuing the journey of sharing love

On April 15, at Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, the Provincial Red Cross Society organized a scholarship program for disadvantaged students and launched activities in response to Humanitarian Month 2025, with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love". Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee. This is a series of humanitarian activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); and the 162nd anniversary of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (May 8).

Effective support

According to the plan, during Humanitarian Month 2025, Red Cross Societies at all levels in Binh Duong province will focus on mobilizing resources to assist the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the community. Humanitarian activities such as: awarding scholarships; building Red Cross houses; providing free medical examinations and medicines to the poor; calling for voluntary blood donations; registering for organ donation; responding to the Campaign "Millions of Compassionate Footsteps - Continuing the Golden History" to mobilize funds for humanitarian aid activities...

In recent days, the Red Cross Society has organized numerous humanitarian activities at various levels, aimed at bringing joy and encouraging people to overcome challenges and continue striving for improvement. One of these meaningful initiatives is providing scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances.

According to the plan, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Provincial Red Cross Society will consider awarding scholarships to over 1,000 students, with a total value of over 5 billion VND. Accordingly, each child will receive a scholarship worth 5 million VND/year and a gift. Since the beginning of this school year, hundreds of scholarships have been awarded to students. At the program on April 15, Provincial Red Cross Society continued to award scholarships this school year to the remaining 561 students. For students facing challenging circumstances, each scholarship they receive offers not only financial support but also a timely source of encouragement. This support motivates them to overcome their difficulties and work harder in their studies, helping them build a better future.

Promote humanitarian traditions

On April 15, the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with related units to organize a voluntary blood donation day. 381 units of blood were received from this voluntary blood donation event. Each unit of blood donated by volunteers not only contributes to bringing life to patients in need of blood treatment but also spreads the message of love and community spirit.

The Provincial Red Cross Society has continued its effective humanitarian activities by organizing a "Zero-VND Market" to support 500 disadvantaged individuals in the province. Attendees at this market expressed great excitement as they received practical gifts and assistance. In addition to goods and necessities worth more than 800,000 VND, each person going to the market also received a free health check-up voucher worth nearly 600,000 VND and 500,000 VND in cash.

In particular, the Provincial Red Cross collaborated with the Provincial Department of Health and the Provincial Young Physicians Association to offer free medical examinations and medications to individuals who attended the "Zero-VND Market" this time. The total value of the humanitarian activities for the program on April 15 amounted to more than 3.6 billion VND.

Participants in this program receive not only attention, material support, and spiritual encouragement, but also health care, creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone involved. This reflects the humane values of solidarity and "mutual love" within the community for those facing difficult circumstances in the province. Such values are promoted through the humanitarian activities carried out by the Provincial Red Cross Society.

According to the assessment by provincial leaders, the Party Committee, government, and residents of Binh Duong province have made significant efforts in recent years, resulting in outstanding achievements across various fields. The province has experienced rapid development in its socio-economic, cultural, and educational areas. Additionally, political security and social order have been maintained, leading to gradual improvements in the material and spiritual well-being of the population.

These collective achievements include the valuable contributions from the Red Cross Societies, along with its staff, members, volunteers, and youth throughout the province. The Society's charitable and humanitarian activities have become a regular occurrence, engaging many agencies, organizations, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The recent efforts of the Red Cross Society in charity and humanitarian activities have provided crucial material and emotional support to individuals in challenging situations and vulnerable groups. Their actions play a significant role in enhancing social security and promoting socio-economic development.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, called on Party committees at all levels, authorities, agencies, units, organizations, enterprises, philanthropists and people from all walks of life to continue to coordinate, support and accompany Red Cross Societies at all levels in the province in providing increasingly effective assistance to the poor and people in difficult circumstances... The Chairman of Provincial People's Committee believes that under the leadership of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and the joint efforts of the whole society, Humanitarian Month 2025 in the province will achieve the highest results and support many disadvantaged people in the province.
