“Joining hands for life, sharing love” is the guiding principle of the White Dove volunteers club under TDM City Red Cross.
Making contribution for the community
40 official members, nearly 100 associates of White Dove volunteers club have involved actively in charity works and social programs for roughly 17 years. These activities were blood donation, cooking for the elderly, giving gifts to orphanages, organizing classes and mid-autumn festivals for children, collecting apparatuses for disabled children and so on. Additionally, the club gas engaged in activities launched by Red Cross.

Monthly, the club donates from VND5mln to VND20mln to charity. Head of the club Vu Trong Quan said: “Funding largely from our members, some from benefactors, the club tends towards not only providing material support for disadvantaged people but also facilitating betterment themselves, e.g. providing vehicles, production equipment, finding and creating jobs for poor people, giving wheelchairs for disabled people and so on”.
Member Nguyen Thi Tuyet Van said: “We to share difficulties with disadvantaged people. When we can contribute to life, we feel so happy”.
Caring about children
White Dove volunteers club members had meaningful activities to take care of poor children in the latest Mid-autumn festival. During one month, all 40 members gathered at club head’s house to make lanterns, pack clothes, books, notebooks, cakes, and sweet. Sometimes they had to work till midnight.
Due to careful preparation, the club organized a warm, happy Mid-autumn festival for children at Tan Lap commune of North Tan Uyen district. The club also offered 45 white shirts, 5 scholarships worth VND700,000 each to these children.
Mr. Quan said: “Regardless of age, social background, wealth, whoever has a warm heart can be our member. We want to be a bridge between benevolent hearts and disadvantaged destinies, contribute to building this life better”.
