Temporary lock-down is implemented at Binh Quoi quarter of Binh Chuan ward in Di An city in relation to Covid-19 infection
Informing about the epidemic situation in the area, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of locl People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control in Thuan An city, said immediately after identifying that 2 positive cases of Covid-19 from Ho Chi Minh City had close contact with relatives at Binh Quoi B of Binh Chuan ward, in the night of May 29, the city deployed and activated the disease prevention and control plan. Through epidemiological investigation, the functional forces identified 8 cases of F1 as relatives with close contact with those 2 cases. According to Mr. Tam, through tracing investigation and after identifying the locations that F0 had went to, the locality implemented temporary blockade measures and was urgently investigating for related F1, F2 cases.
This locality has also identified a case where F1 attended a mass at Lai Thieu church. Through advocacy work, Lai Thieu parish has temporarily suspended religious activities to ensure disease prevention and control in the area. Facing the complicated situation of the epidemic, the Episcopal Priest of Phu Cuong Diocese has also issued a notice to the parishes under the diocese to actively coordinate, implement and follow the instructions of the relevant authorities regarding the disease prevention and control.
Through medical investigation, Thuan An city determined that there were 26 cases of F2 at Thuan An Water Supply - Wastewater Treatment Branch who were in contact with a F1 working here, so they isolated at the office. Regarding the 26 cases of F2 being isolated at Thuan An Water - Waste Treatment Branch, Mr. Tran Chien Cong, General Director of Binh Duong Water - Environment Company (Biwase), said that all F2 cases worked in the office block as no water production was implemented, so it did not affect the water supply in the area. “The company also had a plan in case of need to mobilize personnel from other branches to support and maintain the plant operation to ensure continuous water supply for people and businesses in the area," said Cong.
Binh Duong provincial CDC said that by the afternoon of May 30, in addition to 8 F1 cases that had taken samples for testing and were pending for results, the unit had taken 7 samples and 8 pooled samples on 44 F2 cases for testing. The provincial CDC and Thuan An city keep on investigating and tracing to find out related F2 cases when the test results of F1 cases are available for handling.
As noted by our reporter, as of the afternoon of May 30, Di An city and Thuan An city were still urgently investigating and tracing other F1 and F2 cases to advise the authorities to notify the epidemiological milestones for further tracing; and at the same time, to help people to grasp information for proactive declaration and isolation. The localities also conducted investigations and made a list of F3 cases. Through community Covid-19 prevention and control groups, localities have strengthened communication of disease prevention and control measures and have propagated people not to be too confused or to be negligent to strengthen the management and strictly control the areas bordering the areas of infected cases.
Besides, Di An city and Thuan An city have also strictly implemented the management and supervision of centralized medical quarantine and medical isolation at home for isolated subjects by ensuring food safety and complying with the regulations of Ministry of Health on the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control. The local interdisciplinary inspection teams continue to work with the wards' committees to actively review, inspect, remind and handle the failure of individuals and organizations to comply with regulations on disease prevention and control. .
