Early June 6, Dau Tieng district’s Association of the Elderly held a get-together to mark the 77th anniversary of Vietnamese Elderly Day (June 6, 1941-June 6, 2018) and reviewed the five-year implementation of the Project 67 of the Central Committee of Vietnam Association of the Elderly.
After five years of implementing the project, the district’s Association of the Elderly admitted additional 2,571 members, bringing the total number of members so far to 8,102. The association also actively took part in emulation movements, made Party-government building and maintained the local order-security. In order to create useful playgrounds for members, the association has so far set up 53 various clubs with 1,050 members.
On this occasion, the district’s People’s Committee awarded the certificates of merit to 9 collectives and 18 individuals with excellent achievements in the cause of caring for the elderly and upholding their role in the period of 2013-2018.
*The same day, leaders of TDM city held a delegation to visit, congratulate and offer gifts to the local elderly on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Vietnamese Elderly Day.
Accordingly, the delegation visited and presented gifts worth VND800,000 each to 152 elderly people aged at 90; offered gifts worth VND1.3million each together with 5 meters of silk to 5 centenarians while encouraging them to further live healthily and happily.
*Leaders of Bau Bang yesterday held a delegation to visit, congratulate and offer gifts to Nguyen Van Chuan aged at 100 in Long Nguyen commune.
On this occasion, the local authorities at all levels visited, congratulated and presented gifts to elderly people aged at 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 and 100.
