With the motto of “Protecting the environment from the smallest deeds”, Dau Tieng district’s Women’s
From practical, small models
Under the National Target on New Rural Construction, the Women’s Union branch of Dinh An commune’s Bau Dau hamlet in Dau Tieng district over the past time established a group on environmental protection with 13 members. One of the group’s top majors is to boost propaganda work and set up practical models, contributing to raising women’s awareness and action in environmental protection.

Dau Tieng district’s Women’s Union branches take part in making environmental hygiene
After three years of implementation, the group worked with the hamlet’s Fatherland Front Committee to mobilize people to concrete 2 roads with a total expense of VND158million and registered to plant various flowers along the two roads, contributing to changing the local rural image. It also mobilized 80 women to clean up roads under the three-clean norm.
Realizing the effectiveness from the smallest deeds launched by the Women’s Union branch in environmental protection, the hamlet’s New Rural Development Committee supported VND300,000 at a time for the branch’s group on environmental protection to engage activities in environmental protection. Although being small, this was a motivation for the group to continue widely multiplying environmental protection activities and sharing efforts in new rural construction.
Models replicated
Dau Tieng district’s Women’s
Trinh Thi Ngoan, Chairwoman of the district’s Women’s Union said that many practical models, “Building up families with 5 No-s and 3 Clean-s”, “Road with flowers”…. have actually gone into the life of each family. Noticeably, the “Sentimental wasted material bamboo frame” model supported more than VND35million for 178 poor-but-excellent pupils.
So far, the district’s Women’s Women has also set up 31 groups on environmental hygiene; mobilized organizations, individuals to install nearly 175 light bulbs with a total cost of VND 98million, contributing to minimizing social evils and traffic accidents.
Over the past two years, the district’s Women’s Union joined hands with the district’s Division of Natural Resources and Environment to strengthen propaganda activities, namely “All people actively build green-clean roads”, “Taking action for an environment without waste”…; coordinated with the branches of Minh Hoa, Minh Tan and Minh Thanh communes to launch the model of “Do not use plastic bags”…
Mrs.Ngoan added that all the above efforts have aimed to improve women’s awareness and action for a green, clean and nice environment.
