Delegation Congress of the 4th Agent Orange Victim Society

On the morning of August 15, Binh Duong provincial Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims held the 4th Congress of Delegates in 2023-2028 term. Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Rinh, Chairman of Vietnamese Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims, Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Bui Thanh Nhan, Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Nguyen Thi My Hang, Chairwoman of the provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front, representatives of departments, agencies and 150 delegates who are members of the Society of Agent Orange Victims in the whole province.

During the last term, with the spirit of "Solidarity, love, and responsibility for the victims of Agent Orange", the collective members, the Executive Board of the Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims in the province have united to overcome all difficulties to complete the assigned tasks. The work of organization building and association development has been promoted. The Society continues to receive support from agencies, units, businesses, and benefactors in caring for and helping the victims; thereby, they visited and gave gifts to help victims with an amount of over VND 11 billion, built and repaired 6 houses for Agent Orange victims and implemented other practical social security programs.

Speaking at the congress, Nguyen Loc Ha recognized and praised the solidarity to overcome all difficulties of the provincial Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims in the past term. He affirmed that taking care and helping Agent Orange victims has always been the conscience and responsibility of the whole political system, the whole community and the society. He suggested that the Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims from the province to the district, town and city need to have a concrete and practical plan of action with the goal of "Innovation towards the grassroots, and towards the victims" to help the Agent Orange victims rise up in life so that every victim's family must have a standard of living equal to and higher than the average living standard in society. At the same time, he asked all levels of Party committees, authorities, departments, local mass organizations, benefactors, businesses to continue accompanying, actively supporting and helping the association and Agent Orange victims.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 2023-2028 term including 21 members. Truong Binh Long continued to be re-elected President of the provincial Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims for the fourth time.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims awarded the Medal "For Victims of Agent Orange" to 8 individuals and awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 8 individuals. The provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 4 individuals with achievements in the work of the Society of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims.
