A delegation of the Central Steering Committee for National Target Program of New Rural Construction (or briefly the Program), led by lieutenant-general Nguyen Van Dao, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, yesterday made inspection tours on new rural construction in some communes in the province. Ho Truc Thanh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received the delegation.

In Dau Tieng district’s Thanh An commune, the delegation were heard a report on the outcomes of the local implementation of the Program. The image of the new rural commune is changing day by day. In 2016, the commune will strive to get the local people’s per capita average income at VND36million per year. Thanh Tuyen commune in the district also begun implementing the Program in 2013 and as of November 2015, it was recognized as a new rural commune. Since then, the commune has strived to maintain all 19 criteria of the Program and improved their quality.
The delegation also paid a working visit to Tru Van Tho commune in Bau Bang district. After more than 5 years of realizing the Program, the commune has so far reached over 17 out of 19 criteria and is striving to be recognized as a new rural one by the end of 2017.
In the framework of the working program, the delegation visited a model of orchards in Thanh Tuyen commune and some rural roads, hamlets’ offices in the above-mentioned communes.
Concluding the working program, lieutenant-general Nguyen Van Dao spoke highly of the implementation of the Program in Binh Duong while stressing that the province needs to be patient in the new rural construction process, focus on improving the quality of locals’ lives; well realize propaganda work, raising locals’ awareness of the Program and mobilizing their contributions to it.
