Devoted to people's health

In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the 4th outbreak wave with the Delta mutation, Binh Duong unfortunately became one of Covid-19 hotspots in the southeastern provinces. On the battlefield without gunfire but being extremely difficult and challenging, the province's health sector as the front line upheld its collective strength. Each doctor, medical officer and worker was not afraid of difficulties and worked hard at the Covid-19 hotspots, contributing to well controlling the pandemic and bringing people's lives back to the “new normal” state.

200% of effort

The 4th Covid-19 wave with the increasing intensity and severity of the Delta mutation created an unprecedented challenge for the province's health system, profoundly and comprehensively impacting on all aspects of economy - society, material and spiritual lives of the people. With love for the profession and sense of responsibility for sake of the community, the province’s "soldiers" in white shirt were not been afraid of difficulties and dangers, racing against time, protecting the health and lives of the people. That spirit was reflected in the image of medical staff fainting in hot protective clothing, spending sleepless nights to take samples for testing. Many medical staff and doctors left their young children for grandparents to enter pandemic hotspots. There were medical staff, doctors not having a bath for 3 days, limiting drinking water, going to the toilet to save protective gear. During this Covid-19 pandemic, many doctors and medical workers were infected with Covid-19. Some passed away when being still full of ambitions and burning desire to devotion…

Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health gives guidance on safe vaccination at an injection site

The complicated developments of the pandemic with the number of cases increased exponentially made the local health sector face patient overload. This put Dr. Huynh Minh Chin, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Health, many medical officials and employees under great pressure, but they tried their best to work with 200% of capacity. Tan Uyen town was a Covid-19 hotspot of the province. When receiving the assignment there, doctor Chin and his colleagues spent many sleepless nights on handling complex outbreaks, slowing down the infection of the Delta strain, conducting testing and vaccination while answering hotline information with hundreds of calls and messages every day.

Doctor Huynh Minh Chin confided: "Through these unforgettable days at the Covid-19 outbreak hot spot, with the conscience and responsibility of a doctor, I always put the health and lives of the people first and foremost. First of all, we dedicated all our efforts and time to contribute to controlling the pandemic and bring people's lives to the “new normal” state.

Further pursuing cause for public health

Speaking at the recent meeting of provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee   said that more than 6 months of fighting the pandemic was a period full of difficulties during the history of the province's health sector in particular and in the whole province. The health sector must perform many tasks at the same time such as speeding up the fight against the pandemic, testing, limiting the number of cases, curing patients and minimizing the number of deaths, accelerating the speed of vaccine coverage for the people with effectiveness and safety ensured. In addition, the sector continues firmly consolidating anti-pandemic strongholds in pandemic-free localities and maintained public health.

“In order to protect the health and lives of the people, doctors and nurses temporarily put aside their own joys, joining hands with local authorities to cope with the pandemic. Being not afraid of dangers, doctors worked hard on the frontline against Covid-19 pandemic. This was a beautiful and humane action that spreads in society, contributing to well controlling the pandemic and strengthening people's faith in the leadership of the Party and State", said Mr. Ha.

Discussing solutions against the pandemic in the near future, Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health said that the health sector will continue being proactive to implement measures against Covid-19 pandemic, especially Omicron variant; set up and perfect the local grassroots health system to put it into practical and effective operation. Initially, the sector will promote Covid-19 vaccination campaigns. In addition to existing medical centers, district-level medical units are researching and investing in building at least one Covid-19 collection and treatment facility under the “3-storey tower” model.

The sector will also improve the treatment efficiency of the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) for severe F0 cases to reduce mortality. Traditional medical stations and mobile ones are required to have hospital beds, ensure all kinds of medical supplies, equipment, treatment drugs, medical oxygen... and other necessary conditions to cope with all levels of the pandemic. Especially, in order to support grassroots health care, the sector will also strive to put the Outpatient Emergency Center into operation under the Binh Duong Smart City Project; arrange, recruit, train and foster medical human resources to uphold the effectiveness of invested facilities and equipment at the requirements in the new period.
