Di An, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen light candles to pay heroes, martyrs and visit martyrs’ cemeteries

Early July 27, Di An town’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee together with the town’s leaders over periods and armed forces in the town paid a visit to town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

In a solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, delegates laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs who laid down their lives for the national liberation and reunification cause.

Di An town’s Youth Union also held a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs at town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery on the evening of July 26. Participants offered incense and lighted 1,000 candles at each martyr’s grave.

*The same day, Ben Cat town’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee together with leaders of sectors, mass organizations, armed forces, Youth Union members and pupils in the town visited town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.

The whole town has a total of 2,724 martyrs, 278 war invalids, 65 sick soldiers, 12 collectives and 9 individuals granted the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and 321 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 17 of whom are still alive.

Over the past years, the town built 747 gratitude houses, gave household appliances for policy beneficiary families; created favorable conditions for martyrs’ families and those with merits to the revolution to rise up and further make contributions to the local development and construction cause…

*Early July 27, leaders of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee also held a delegation to visit town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery.

The delegation observed a minute of silence and offered incense to commemorate war heroes, martyrs who laid down their lives for national independence and freedom.

*Prior to that, Tan Uyen town’s Youth Union Standing Committee grandly organized a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs at town’s Martyrs’ Cemetery on the evening of July 27.

At the ceremony, leaders of the town and Youth Union members offered incense and paid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. Candles lighted at the ceremony also expressed the local youths’ tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the national construction and defense cause.
