Di An City takes action for children

June is the Action Month for Children to join hands with the whole society to take care of children, Youth Unions and HYPOs at all levels in Di An City has carried out some works and projects to help children have fun and study better.

Playgrounds for children

In June, two projects "For the children" - children's playgrounds in Thanh Le residential area, Binh Duong 2 quarter (An Binh ward), and in Tan Hoa quarter (Dong Hoa ward), were promptly put into use this summer. Since having playing areas, children in the residential areas have been very happy because there are their favorite games. On the inauguration day of the project, children laughed happily, ran and jumped freely; there were slides, swings, seesaws that are very appealing to children. Youth Union staff eyed the children playing so happily and was so glad too as they were returning to their childhood... The joy of Youth Union staff is that children are able to play cheerfully and develop in the best possible way.

Lâm Hoàng Thùy Trang, Secretary of Di An City Youth Union, said: "The two playgrounds were set up in residential areas inhabited by many workers working far from their hometown. The building of the playing areas meets the recreation demand of many children here. On the opening day, children ran to the playground and wished would be quickly installed for them to play. The project is not only the joy of children but also of parents because they can preserve bright smiles of childhood".

The playground located in An Binh ward has many attractive games such as slides, swings, seesaws… The games are made of durable, sturdy materials, have eye-catching color decoration; the playground has lively sceneries, the size of equipment is suitable for children’ ages and preference, with a total cost of VND 50 million. The playground project in Dong Hoa ward was carried out by the city Youth Union in collaboration with provincial Agencies and Enterprises’ bloc Youth Union, and Agribank Song Thanh IP branch’s Youth Union in order for the children to have fun and play every day. The project was completed and has games installed with a total cost of VND 30 million. Local Youth Union members also painted beautiful pictures on fences by and planted more than 100 trees to create a green - clean and beautiful space within the playing area.

Joining hands to build a children's playground is done regularly by Youth Union – Youth Association – HYPO organizations, and has created useful healthy places for children to play, entertain and do physical exercise. This action is really meaningful, expresses responsibility, affection, and care about the physical and mental well-being of children.

Spreading at grassroots level

With the spirit of close to grassroots level to ascertain situation and timely care for children of poor workers, Youth Union of wards in Di An City actively carried out this work and helped disadvantaged children timely. Youth Union of Dong Hoa ward went to lodging houses and gave 7 gifts to disadvantaged young workers’ children who achieved good academic achievements in the 2020-2021 school year, each gift worth VND 200,000. In addition, in Di An ward, Youth Union gave 10 gifts to children of poor young workers. With these gifts, the Youth Unions hoped to encourage children to keep striving to study well, achieve good learning results in the next school years, and be good children, good students and build a bright future.

Recently, Youth Union of Tan Dong Hiep ward also held a program to present schoolbags and scholarships to students, and complimented students who well followed five things taught by Uncle Ho. The Youth Union visited, gave 12 gifts including scholarships, school supplies, and presented portraits of President Ho Chi Minh to the children in order to encourage them to follow followed five things taught by Uncle Ho. Apart from those meaningful gifts was the kindness, sympathy and support of Youth Union for future generations.
