Upholding the valuable workforce of enterprises, Di An Town Trade Union has actively organized series of activities to care for spiritual and material life, especially for poor workers. These activities show the care of the authorities at all levels for laborers, encouraging them to work and stay in Binh Duong.
Gift giving
Meet poor workers receiving gifts from the program of "five benefits of being union member" in Tan Dong Hiep Ward of Di An Town we admire their spirit of overcoming difficulties. Each person has a situation of difficulties and hard work but they all have the same energy to rise in life. Nguyen Thi Vuong is a typical worker overcoming difficulties.
Ten years ago, Vuong left Gia Lai to Binh Duong with nothing in hands. With determination to build up the future, Vuong applied to work for Hoang Phat Engineering and Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In addition to caring for herself, every month she also saves up money to remit to her family.
Vuong confided: "My family lives in a place of hardship, my mother has muscular dystrophy. My 3 siblings are at schooling ages depending on the small load of vegetables in everyday market of my father. So, I will try to work to get money back to my family."
Being assisted by the program, Vuong was thankful to all levels of authorities and businesses for their care and support and promised to work harder and stay in Binh Duong for long term. Unlike Vuong's situation, Mai Thi Nguyen, a worker of Bao Tin Phong Co., Ltd., is a single mother of two young children in their childhood. In 2006, Nguyen's husband left home to avoid raising the two children. Being alone struggling with life, she resolved to her two children for their schooling properly. Nguyen wants to work a lot to make money to raise her children.

Also at the program, we met Dang Van Hoang, an An Giang native, who was one of the recipients of support for workers with particularly difficult circumstances. A few years ago, Hoang left Soc Trang for Binh Duong to settle down, but he was still trying to work to save money to help his family feed their children. Life would go on if Hoang had not had traffic accident. He was diagnosed with a brain injury but had no money for treatment. The salary of his work was unabundant while he himself is the bread winner of the family. In need of a way out, the gift has become a savior, timely helping him overcome difficulties to rise in life.
Hoang said: "Thanks to the help of the union, my life has been through difficulties and stabilized until now.”
