Di An town’s Steering Board for the “Project 1956”, on January 25, issued the Plan No.31/KH-BCD on implementation of the 2013 Project on Vocational Training for Rural Laborers, in which there is a focus on propagandizing and giving vocational consultancy for laborers. After a short time of implementation, the project has actually brought into life.
Laborers with stable jobs
With his kind heart and enthusiasm, Bui Thanh Phuc is now seen as a reliable rely for many youngsters who want to get vocational training in Di An ward.

attended a class on hairdressing and then opened a barber shop with the name of
Tu Ham in Nhi Dong quarter after graduation.

Thanks to his creativeness and ardour, Phuc’s barber shop has always met clients’ satisfaction. This has helped his barber-shop get more crowded with clients. Noticeably, he is very enthusiastic in teaching make-up and hairdressing skills for the local youngsters and most of them have confidently opened their barber-shops, helping stabilize their lives. Currently, Phuc secures around VND10mln a month and his dream is to attend the “Golden Scissors” competition to study and improve their skills in this field.
Whilst, Nguyen Van Trung in Tan Binh ward has improved his life after attending a three-month class on forklift truck driving. Since graduation, he has taken a job at DaiDo Vietnam Co.Ltd. with the initial salary of more than VND3mln plus many other allowances. He said: “I’m very confident with this skill as it is suitable to me and ensure my family’s income. I will try to work to be able to further attend a class on car driving by the end of the year”.
Initial results
Many other laborers in Di An town have risen up to secure their stable lives since the local Project on Vocational Training for Rural Laborers has been brought into life. To achieve the result, the town’s DoLISA have made more efforts, including cooperating with ward-level steering boards to speed up vocational consultancy and propaganda among laborers.
In the first eight months of 2013, the town’s DoLISA opened 4 vocational training classes for 88 rural laborers with skills on hairdressing, forklift truck driving and cooking. It is expected that the division will team up Di An Vocational Junior College to organize vocational training classes for 100 learners who are rural laborers with a total expense of more than VND273mln.
Dang Ngoc Phu, Deputy Head of Di An town’s DoLISA said: “The town’s annual vocational training for rural laborers is approved by provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. The town’s DoLISA is directly responsible for the training of non-agricultural skills such as forklift truck, industrial electricity, construction mechanism, hairdressing and cooking…”.
Also according to him, the town’s DoLISA is expected to cooperate with the town’s Division of Economics to open classes on agricultural production skills such as those of growing orchids, ornamental creature…for rural laborers in the coming time. Together with initial results, the town’s vocational training program for rural laborers have faced many difficulties for change.
