The Red Cross Society of Dinh Hoa ward in TDM city expressed its main play in charity activities over the past years, contributing to realizing the local policies on social welfare.
Particularly, the ward’s Red Cross Society well realized many programs and campaigns, namely “Humanitarian blood donation”, “Each organization, individual should stick to a humanitarian address”, “Tet for the poor, Agent Orange victims”, “Raising piggybank”…
Nguyen Ngoc Thien Kim, Chairwoman of the ward’s Red Cross Society said that with charity activities, the ward’s Red Cross Society has joined hands with the ward’s People’s Committee to well realize social welfare policies. Over the past six months, the society mobilized organizations and individuals to support 20 needy cases with the monthly allowance of VND300,000-VND500,000 each, raise 600 kg of rice for 60 people with a total value of VND5million, donate 751 gifts worth more than VND70million to disadvantaged children; worked with relevant units to provide free medical check-up for needy families…
Along with humanitarian activities, the ward’s Red Cross Society effectively organized a lot of models and clubs, including “Volunteers’ Club”, “Charity Kitchen”…Noticeably, the Volunteers’ Club is regularly implemented with high effectiveness in offering help to poor patients. In 2018, the club has given more than 7,000 free meals for poor patients…
Ho Thi Hoang Oanh, member of the ward’s “Volunteers’ Club” said that in response to emulation movements launched by the ward’s Red Cross Society, each member always tries to uphold the spirit of “mutual affection, mutual love”, partially sharing difficulties with needy families.
Possibly speaking, charity activities of the ward’s Red Cross Society have brought into play their effectiveness and absorbed the involvement of people from all strata. This is seen as a motivation for the society to promote patriotic emulation movements in association with socio-economic development, aiming to well realize the local humanitarian activities.
