On the morning of June 5, the Department of Agriculture and Environment collaborated with the People's Committee of Dau Tieng District to host the 2025 Environmental Festival, in observance of World Environment Day, under the theme of "Beat Plastic Pollution."
In attendance at the event were Mr. Pham Van Bong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; leaders from Dau Tieng district as well as other districts and cities within the province. This significant occasion forms part of the Month of Action for the Environment, drawing over 1,000 participants, including officials, civil servants, youth union members, educators, students, community members, and representatives from local businesses.
This year's program features a diverse array of offerings, including: exhibition booths showcasing models and eco-friendly technologies; a green culinary section presenting dishes that eschew disposable plastics; an environmental protection game area; and a booth for "Exchanging trash for gifts."
During the program, Mr. Pham Van Bong commended the thoughtful and innovative preparations made by Dau Tieng district. He urged authorities at all levels to rigorously enforce the Law on Environmental Protection 2020, enhance management, and improve the classification, recycling, and reduction of plastic waste. Enterprises must adopt technological innovations, embrace green production practices, and focus on the collection and recycling of packaging. The public should modify their consumption habits to minimize single-use plastics. Concurrently, he called on the media to intensify efforts in raising awareness about environmental protection and mitigating plastic pollution within the community.
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dau Tieng District held a ceremony to honor 10 groups and 6 individuals who have made significant contributions to environmental protection in recent times.
