Binh Duong has made a wide variety of activities to ensure laborers’ legitimate rights and interests; teamed up with relevant agencies to diversify activities taking care of their spiritual and material lives, helping them keep their mind on work, thereby contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.
Giving comprehensive care to laborers
The whole province now has a total of around 1mln laborers, 85% of whom are immigrant. The number of laborers trained by many forms has amounted to around 70%. On average, the province annually generates new jobs for 45,000-50,000 laborers. This shows that the province has always been attractive to immigrant laborers because of well realizing a task on taking care of laborers’ lives and protecting their legitimate rights and interests. Trade Unions at all levels of the province have also actively got involved in social charity activities, paid more attention to supporting needy laborers and those hit by workplace accidents.

The annual Protrade-Charming Contest has become an interesting playground for staff at Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Co.
Over the past time, the province took good care of laborers’ lives via many practical activities such as presenting gifts, organizing art performances…The province also responded to the 2015 National Workers’ Month and 8th provincial Workers’ Week with a lot of significant and practical activities. Provincial Labor Union has so far set up and maintained many support funds with nearly VND47bln, offering help to more than 9,900 laborers. Especially, on the 2016 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, Trade Unions at all levels of the province mobilized businesses to take 20,229 laborers back their hometown for Tet with a total expense of more than VND10.7bln. Provincial Labor Unions and its affiliates also offered 1,172 free Tet bus tickets and gifts worth more than VND1.5bln to needy laborers.
Diverse activities caring for laborers
Over the past time, provincial Support Center for Young Laborers organized many significant programs in favor of laborers. The “United meal for young workers who are not able to return home for Tet “program was a typical example for this. It took place with such interesting contests as “United meal”, karaoke singing…
The Trade Union of Binh Duong Garment Joint Stock Co. also held a lot of cultural-sports activities together with programs on education of gender, reproductive health…for laborers. The Trade Union promoted emulation movements “Well working” among laborers, contributing to improving their income; advised the company’s directorate on setting up payroll, bonus, allowance regulations, honored outstanding trade unionists…; coordinated with other departments in the company to well realize grassroots democratic regulations, organized dialogues between the company’s directorate and laborers, opportunely solving queries in labor relation…
Many workers have received care and attention from the local authorities and trade unions at all levels, making them felt secure in order to have a long attachment with Binh Duong homeland. Nguyen Hoai Tam, a worker of Tufropes VN Co.Ltd. in the My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park said: “In Binh Duong, I was very happy when taking part in contests organized by provincial Support Center for Young Workers. Here, young workers had the chance to participate in fun-filled games, helping us relax and regenerate our energy for the next working days”.
All the above activities have aimed to help laborers better uphold their role, be ready for overcoming difficulties, actively study and creatively work in order to join hands with the local Party, government and people to build up a prosperous Binh Duong city under the central management in the future.
