Binh Duong province has always paid attention to the movement of “Paying debt of gratitude” and seen it as one of the local key tasks.
Diversified activities for paying debt of gratitude
As of July 2011, the whole province had nearly 8,720 social policy beneficiaries, including 55 Vietnamese heroic mothers, 354 martyrs’ families, 2,922 war invalids…
Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has also suggested provincial People’s Committee to promulgate a decision on land-use tax exemptions and reductions for 78 cases under the Decision No.78; reached unanimity with localities to suggest the province to give some social welfare policies for those who rendered services to the nation.
Delivery of the gratitude house to a
privileged family in Tan Uyen district
TDM town and Tan Uyen, Ben Cat, Dau Tieng districts also built 22 gratitude houses worth more than VND1.27bln; upgraded 9 other gratitude houses with a total expense of VND164mln and donated 85 saving books worth VND43.5mln for those who rendered services to the nation.
On the occasion of the Tet festival 2011, the province visited and presented gifts worth more than VND45.64bln to those who rendered services to the nation, up 44% compared to 2010; built 104 tombstones and updated information on 19 other tombstones; spent VND2bln on upgrading martyrs’cemetaries across the province…
All Vietnamese heroic mothers and seriously wounded soldiers were also granted the healthcare cards for medium or high ranking officials. The province also granted health insurance cards to more than 10,000 social policy beneficiaries and their relatives.
Socialization of “Paying debt of gratitude” movement
Possibly speaking, the “Paying debt of gratitude” movement in Binh Duong has been developed in both depth and width. This result has come from the local efforts in socialization of the movement.
Over the 11 past years, Binh Duong extracted its State budget and mobilized organizations and individuals to build and upgrade thousands of gratitude houses worth more than VND38bln and donate more than 900 saving books worth more than VND400mln to social policy beneficiaries.
Taking care of the lives of social policy beneficiaries in the province were also socialized by many diversified movements and activities, creating favorable conditions for them to rise up in life.
Beginning from July 26, provincial leaders will visit and present 35 gifts worth VND1.5mln each to war invalids and martyrs’ families on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27). Under the central budget, Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyrs’ families, war invalids, sick soldiers…will be also presented gifts worth between VND200,000 and VND400,000 each.
