In 2018, provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment inspected regularly and irregularly 1,340 organizations, 25% lower than before. The department sanctioned administrative violations of 587 units with total fine of VND 33.7 billion. After inspections, violating units in the province mostly implemented remedies and well complied with regulations. In addition, the department conducted additional examination to 13 urban area projects, resorts with large land use scale, and 5 joint stock companies. After inspections, these units promptly realized and handled errors, especially cases of illegal land plot division and sale, illegal mineral exploitation... Representatives of Department of Natural Resources and Environment said in 2019, the department would continue to organize good implementation of land use planning and plans til 2020 at the provincial and district levels; focus on resolving shortcomings in land procedures. In addition, the department will do seriously appraisal and advise Provincial People's Committee about investment policies, land allocation, land lease, land use purpose change, compensation, support and resettlement of projects in the province; strengthen control of mineral exploitation activities, especially sand mining on Dau Tieng reservoir. The department will also complete the construction of the Hydrological Station on Saigon River; strictly control activities of water resource exploration, use and discharge of wastewater into water sources; continue to implement projects and missions of Paris agreement on climate change...
