Do not be subjective to ignore the epidemic

After a long time returning to the "new normal" and implementing safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic, the subjective and negligent responses have been among some people regarding the COVID-19 prevention and control measures. This is all the more worrisome when Omicron is considered a fast-spreading andasymptomatic strain that makes it hard for many people to recognize. Therefore, people's awareness of complying with epidemic prevention and control measures today is vital.

In the current COVID-19 epidemic situation, people need to strictly implement disease prevention and control measures, especially in places of many people

According to the assessment of the provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, after 4 months of returning to the "new normal" and adapting safely, flexibly, and effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic, the situation of the epidemic has changed. COVID-19 in the province is still well controlled. However, in recent days, in addition to the Delta strain, the appearance of the Omicron variant has caused the number of infections (F0) in the community to be on verge of increasing. According to the assessment, the reason is partly because people who are still subjective to neglect to maintain the "5K" measures as recommended by the Ministry of Health. The false assurance of vaccines but "missing 5K" is a very common situation in community activities, causing many people to get infected and it is difficult to identify the source of infection. The evidence is that some families of 4-5 people infected but it is also difficult to determine who is the main source of infection among such family members.

Mr. Nguyen The H., an employee of an agency said that his whole family of 4 members all became F0 after a party. Meeting friends after many days of "separation" and unexpectedly returning from the party, he, after a quick test, was the first to be considered as infected with COVID-19, then his wife and 2 young children were also infected with COVID-19, so the stronghold of measures to protect himself and his family has collapsed. Fortunately, all members of his family have recovered from the disease, but there are sequelae of shortness of breath making the health of family members much worse than before. “After being infected, I still think that doing “5K” well is the best protection for myself, my family and the community. People should not be subjective, but they should strictly follow the epidemic prevention and control measures just like before," said Mr. H.

Currently, if you have the opportunity to walk around the dining places, many people in some places from the serving staff to the guests are very indifferent and subjective regarding the implementation of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures. In many cases, guests also shared beer and wine glasses at the party, making the risk of infection and disease spread very high.

According to the report of the local Department of Health, the COVID-19 epidemic situation in the province continues to be well controlled as socio-economic activities have gradually recovered and developed. The number of severe cases and deaths has decreased sharply in recent days. However, in the past month, new cases have tended to increase rapidly in localities mainly due to the return to normal social activities and people's increased communication and travel activities. The local authority is sometimes negligent in the direction of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control as many limitations and shortcomings in the implementation and the implementation organizations remain.

At a recent online meeting with departments, branches and local Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province, and head of the provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, said that in the coming time, the disease situation is still forecasted to be complicated as the number of infections would increase, especially by the Omicron variant with high transmission rate. Rapid spread has penetrated in many localities including Binh Duong. Therefore, the Party committees, local authorities at all levels and branches continue to focus on directing the effective implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures in the new situation in order to well perform the tasks. Specifically, the Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control from the province to the grassroots should continue to actively develop and implement the epidemic prevention and control plan in the new situation, especially the prevention and control of the Omicron variant.
