On the occasion of Vu Lan Festival in this year, the provincial Red Cross mobilized donors to grant 1,500 gifts to disabled and poor people and to present 2 tons of rice to societies for visually-impaired people in Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, Ben Cat and Dau Tieng districts with the total value of nearly VND400mil.
Huynh Thi Thanh Phuong, a member of the provincial club for volunteers, said the club annually spends many gifts to poor people, orphans… On the occasion, Vietnam Luxgen Auto Company presented 300 gifts to the poor in Thuan An town’s Binh Hoa and Vinh Phu wards.
Tran Thi Lien, chairwoman of the provincial Red Cross, said the movement of doing charity has lured many businesses and donors to share and encourage the poor.
