voluntary blood donation campaign has constantly developed after 15
year-launching. 
More and more people take part in the voluntary blood donation campaign
The whole province last year received 9,320 blood units from volunteers, contributing to saving thousands of patients in need of blood.
To achieve the above result, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation attached special importance to dissemination of information to people from all walks of life, raising their awareness of voluntary blood donation.
Provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation also organized many training courses for propagandists. Especially, provincial Red Cross Society paid attention to honoring and taking care of blood donors. Since 2008, many collectives and individuals have been honored for their achievements in voluntary blood donation.
Along with mass organizations’ members, Youth Union members, armed forces…, the province’s voluntary blood donation campaign has so far absorbed a large number of workers and religious organizations.
The outstanding donors also shared their experiences and encouraged others to donate blood. Nguyen Van Boi, who has donated blood 29 times, said that he will further make his good deed and actively mobilize people around him to donate blood.
For better results, provincial Steering Board for Voluntary Blood Donation has actively set up clubs and groups on voluntary blood donation. The whole province now has 108 squads on voluntary blood donation with 3,498 members and 109 reserve ones with 1,178 members; a club for those who have a rare blood type, B Rh (-).
The theme of the World Blood Donor Day 2012 is “Every Blood Donor Is A Hero”. While recognizing the silent and unsung heroes who save lives every day through their blood donations, the theme strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood voluntarily and regularly.
According to the report from the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, as many as 93 million people around the world donate their blood every year. In Vietnam, there were 766,000 turns of people donating blood last year. Binh Duong also collected 17,013 blood units between 2010 and 2011…
