Donation to Covid-19 vaccine purchase earns great social census

In order to join hands in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, especially the policy of purchasing Covid-19 vaccines for the whole population, many businesses and individuals inside and outside of the province have paid attention and participated in the supporting drives. The practical significance of the policy has kick-started the amount of money donations for vaccine purchase to increase on daily basis.

In addition to businesses in the province, a number of businesses outside the province have also donated resources for disease prevention. In the photo: Charm Group Joint Stock Company from District 6 of Ho Chi Minh city donates an amount of VND 5 billion to support the Covid-19 vaccine fund in Binh Duong province.

Meaningful endeavors

Recently, Mrs. Bui Thi Nguyet, 71 years old, in Quarter 2 of Dau Tieng town in Dau Tieng district donated VND 10 million to the Covid-19 prevention fund at the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Dau Tieng district to contribute to the State to purchase vaccines. Talking to us, she said that complicated Covid-19 outbreaks occurred in many places; frontline workers had to work very hard; if there were vaccines for everyone, it would contribute to control the epidemic and people will feel more secure; that was why she contributed. Nguyet said: "Even though I live in the countryside, I still have a stable income, so I also want to contribute a little bit to the government to purchase vaccines for everyone, including my family."

During the current complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the policy of purchasing Covid-19 vaccines for the entire population is interested by many businesses. Representatives of some businesses said that they would like to have vaccines soon to inject their workers. Ms. Vu Kieu Nu, Chairwoman of the provincial Women Entrepreneurs Association, said that after the call of the State’s President, the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee and the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, the association launched among its members. Initially, the association raised VND 300 million and gave it to the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee to contribute to the province's Covid-19 vaccine fund.

Nu said that the policy of purchasing Covid-19 vaccines for the whole population is very meaningful, so when the association called for it, all members enthusiastically supported it. In the association, there are businesses with thousands of workers, but the members have also registered and will use the company's money to buy vaccines for all employees in the company. “The amount of VND 300 million that members contributed with the desire to purchase vaccines for poor people who cannot afford to buy vaccines in the province as well as in the country. This is only the first phase, we will continue to call and be ready to contribute more in the coming time,” said Nu.

Joint hands and efforts

Ms. Tran Thi Kim Lan, Deputy Chairwoman of the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee, said that after the provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee issued a call to support resources to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, especially the policy of buying vaccines, it has received the attention of many businesses. The resources that businesses contributed to join hands with the province of Covid-19 prevention and control including the policy of purchasing vaccines to support people at this time are of great significance. It is not only the responsibility of businesses to stand with the locality but also the spirit of sharing with the social community that businesses aim to in their production and business activities.

In addition to enterprises in the province, a number of enterprises outside the province have also donated resources for the province. Recently, Charm Group Joint Stock Company from District 6 of Ho Chi Minh city has presented an amount of VND 5 billion VND to the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee. Talking to us, Ms. Luu Thi Phuong, General Director of Charm Group Joint Stock Company, said that Charm Group now also invests in projects in Di An ward of Di An city. Community responsibility and social work are one of Charm Group's corporate culture criteria. “Supporting the purchase of vaccines is a very noble obligation in the current prolonged Covid-19 pandemic situation. If there is vaccine and people are vaccinated early, then peace will come to everyone. Stemming from responsibilities and obligations to the community, Charm Group wishes to contribute a small part with the Binh Duong provincial authority to take care of people's health and protect the safety of the community before the pandemic,” said Phuong.

Like Charm Group, Van Xuan Real Estate Group Joint Stock Company in Ho Chi Minh city, having an investment project in Binh Duong province, has also shared a part with the locality in prevention and fight against the epidemic by a donation of VND 1 billion. The company representative said that through the government's call for joint efforts in Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, the company has deducted a part of the funding to contribute to Binh Duong province with the hope that soon enough the funds will be available to purchase vaccines to support the citizens.

In the current complicated epidemic situation, medical experts also recommend that an effective anti-epidemic solution is to implement the motto of "5K + vaccine". In order to soon return to normal life, the Party and State have implemented the goal of vaccinating the entire population as soon as possible in order to achieve the ‘herd immunity’. Vaccination is a fundamental, long-term, strategic and decisive solution to get out of the pandemic. Holding the responsibility and affection, each person, unit and business should promote the spirit of "mutual sentiment and mutual affection" and continue to donate more resources for disease prevention including the purchase of vaccines against Covid-19.
