Dong An Vocational College, on October 6, held a ceremony to open the 2018-2019 new academic year. Attending the event were Nguyen Van Loc, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Public Relations; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of some sectors, departments in the province.
In the new academic year, the school has a total of 1,000 fresh students with regular training and 300 ones with inter-college transfer training. The school's main majors include economy, information technology, foreign languages, tourism, mechanism…
In order to well realize its training task, the school has set targets, including building it into a hi-quality human resource training center with the regional and national scale; expanding the linkage in training with universities at home and abroad; building a qualified teaching staff; investing in some hi-tech labs, modern teaching equipment…Every year, there are around 1,000 students graduating from the school, 90% of whom are offered jobs at Ips in the province and localities in the southern region.
Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Hung said that the school has contributed to supplying highly skilled laborers to enterprises and partially meeting the local demand for socio-economic development in order to well realize the province’s Program on improving the quality of human resources for the period of 2016-2020. In the coming time, the school needs to strengthen its organization apparatus, improve the quality of its managerial and teaching staff; organize learning-teaching activities at society’s needs. For students, they need to try harder in study in order to get necessary skills at enterprises’ needs.
On this occasion, the school awarded the certificates of merit to 23 outstanding lecturers, staff and students in the 2017-2018 academic year; offered scholarships to 56 poor-but-excellent students…

In the new academic year, the school has a total of 1,372 fresh students or more than 114% of the set target. For in-depth development, the school has expanded its scale and linkage for training in association with making investment in material facilities.
It is known that over the past years, the school brought into full play its role in training hi-quality human resources for the province and neighboring regions. Most of the school’s students got jobs after graduation. In the 2017-2018 academic year, there were 100% of students reaching the school’s requirements.
On this occasion, 225 students were awarded graduation certificates from the school.
