Drastically fighting Covid-19 pandemic, but not letting people be deprived

During his recent inspection tours on the local Covid-19 prevention and control, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee has asked for localities to drastically fight against the pandemic, but do not let people be deprived. Accordingly, localities were urged to take drastic measures in zoning, controlling and preventing the pandemic, but must always ensure that people do not suffer from poverty.

Maintaining supply chains of goods

Amid the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic, the supply chains of essential and non-essential goods are showing signs of interruption with local shortage in some localities at certain times.  The actual records in localities over the past time show that there were many items in shortage. According to reflection by the people, vegetables and fruits are on signs of scarcity and increasing prices at some times.

Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee inspects the supply of necessities for people at emergency relief points for those affected by Covid-19 epidemic in Tan Uyen town

The pandemic has broken out and spread on a large scale, forcing many areas to make zoning and medical isolation, causing the circulation of goods to face more difficulties than the previous period. In addition, some localities were forced to zone and suspend business activities for many wholesale markets because of having Covid-19 cases. These were the reasons leading to the risk of shortage of goods supply chains over the past time.

In order to maintain the local capacity on supply of goods, especially for essential items such as food and foodstuffs, etc., the province has directed departments, sectors and localities to mobilize enterprises to ensure the supply of goods and keep prices stable. However, some areas that are currently hot spots on Covid-19 pandemic, where there are markets and supermarkets in the blockage areas have faced a local shortage of goods at certain times. With provident psychology, many people have hoarded commodities, food and foodstuff. This has also made the shortage of goods get more serious.

With the point of view of “always trying to maintain the operation of supply chains, provincial leaders have put forward many solutions to create conditions for enterprises to feel secure in business and production. Di An Big C Supermarket (GO Supermarket) is a typical example for this. Specifically, in recent days, Di An city has been forced to temporarily zone for disinfection at the supermarket because there was a case of F0 shopping here. In order to ensure that people's shopping and consumption are not interrupted, the city has asked for the supermarket to reorganize a new staff and implement plans against the pandemic in order to resume operations. In addition to GO Di An supermarket, localities have also handled issues linking to the pandemic at their system of markets, supermarkets, shops... quickly and flexibly.

Don't let people be deprived

During his recent inspection tours on the local Covid-19 prevention and control in localities, Mr. Loi asked for districts, towns, cities to actively mobilize and support connection in finding food sources to meet people's needs. For those who do not have money to buy food and foodstuff, provincial Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations need to have a plan to mobilize donors to participate in supporting these subjects, helping each other overcome the pandemic so that no one falls into poverty.

Through propaganda on Covid-19 prevention and control,  Dau Tieng district has got animated with the mobilization and donation of goods, food and foodstuff for people living in blockade areas. As of July 12, with the mobilization of the district’s Fatherland Front Committee, donors supported many gifts, equipment and cash with a total value of VND 1.8 billion, joining hands with the locality in the fight against the pandemic. Of these, there were many gifts, including food and foodstuff, sent to people living in areas under medical isolation and zoning.

Talking to us, Nguyen Van Sang, a resident in Dau Tieng town’s quarter 3 in  Dau Tieng city said that although his family is living in a medical isolation area, living and eating conditions are still ensured. Accordingly, along with being supported by the local anti-Covid-19 force in buying commodities, his family is also regularly given meaningful gifts. These are valuable gifts, contributing to encouraging people to overcome immediate difficulties during the pandemic period. It is thought that amid the pandemic, we must unite and share more together to create strength towards the goal of winning the battle against the pandemic as soon as possible.
