On December 25, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hanh, Head of the Economic-Budget Commission of Binh Duong Provincial People's Council, received a delegation of the Urban Committee of the Hanoi municipal People's Council, led by Mr. Dam Van Huan, Head of the Committee, who came to work and exchange experiences in the urban development sector in Binh Duong province.
At the meeting with the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Van, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Construction, shared information on the investment and development of social housing in the province. Accordingly, Binh Duong has developed a project to develop social housing and workers' housing. By 2030, the province plans to invest in about 160,325 social housing units, with a total land area of about 470.4 hectares and an estimated construction floor area of 9,253,924 square meters, serving about 552,458 people.
Representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment shared about the investment situation of a Solid Waste Treatment Complex to meet the requirements for solid waste treatment arising in the province in the coming time. Accordingly, up to now, more than 98% of domestic waste generated in the province has been collected and transported to the Complex for treatment by Binh Duong Water and Environment Joint Stock Company and public works enterprises of districts and cities.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Hanh said that this is an opportunity for the two localities to learn from each other, share practical lessons and experiences to support each other in solving problems; promote the development of social housing as well as improve solid waste treatment infrastructure, contributing to improving the lives of people in the two localities in the coming time.
