The province has now 26 high schools. In recent years, provincial educational quality has been generally improved. Especially, in spite of many difficulties, schools in remote areas have overcome and erase the quality gap between regions. Following two schools are typical examples.
A school in war zone D
Thuong Tan high school (North Tan Uyen district) is located in war zone D. Like other remote schools, annual input of 10th grades of this school is always low. However, due to efforts of teachers and pupils, educational quality of the school is really admirable. In 6 consecutive years, PPC recognized Thuong Tan high school an outstanding collective, due to their 5 consecutive years of having 100% pupils to pass high school graduation, and 98.8% pupils to pass high school graduation in the 2014-2015 school year. Rector Phan Duy Quan said, these results came from many innovative and practical measures of the school to help teachers, pupils in their teaching and learning.
Thuong Tan high school (North Tan Uyen district) rewarded good pupils on occasion of the new school year.
Firstly, the school managing board improved activity quality of speciality groups through rebuilding curriculum, compiling teaching materials corresponding to many pupil types and the common standard; innovating teaching methods; performing, supervising teaching; conducting experiments to inspire pupils; organizing seminars, introducing active learning approaches to pupils. The school managing board examined, assessed teaching of every teachers. Teachers set up tests, gave correct points, and teaching results were a measure of professional competence of teachers.
The role of teachers was promoted effectively in building up academic discipline, self-management class, team activities combined with the life-skills education for pupils. The schools also paid attention to cultivating talented pupils. From the 2009-2010 school year, the school had 15 excellent pupils at provincial level, 9 pupils achieving prizes of Luong The Vinh mathematics contest, Sao Khue award, English speaking contest...
Being worthy of the name of Phan Boi Chau
Phan Boi Chau high school (Dau Tieng district) also has stable educational quality. The school has been through many difficulties. Like Thuong Tan high school, input quality of 10th-grades of Phan Boi Chau high school has been in bottom ones of the province. However, the school has a young, enthusiastic teaching staff always seeking to innovating teaching methods, applying information technology, utilizing teaching aids into teaching activities. Furthermore, pupils here are obedient, diligent, and have high learning spirit.
The school managing board has done well their management role to maintain and improve quality. Rector Nguyen Kieu Dien said, the school strengthened management of teaching and learning routines, and curriculum; encourage teachers to utilize teaching aids. The managing board and groups leaders supervised teaching regularly to assess correctly and have timely corrections.
Teachers monitored closely learning attitude of pupils; motivated learning spirit’s weak pupils; cultivated talented pupils for contests. Rector Nguyen Kieu Dien said, the school reminded constantly pupils of learning attitude, methods; encouraged pupil’s self-regulation of learning methods; coordinated well with parents in managing their children's learning.
Due to ongoing efforts, in 3 consecutive years, the school had 100% pupils passing high school graduation, and 99.39% pupils passing high school graduation in the 2014-2015 school year. In the last school year, pupils here got 22 prizes at provincial excellent pupil contests. Annual rate of pupils admitted to universities, colleges has constantly grown, many pupils were admitted to 2 universities at the same time.
