Provincial Inter-Sectoral Association of Police-Procuracy and People's Court has just organized a conference to review coordination work in 2021 and implement an inter-sectoral coordination plan in investigation, prosecution and trial activities in 2022.
An overview of the conference
Although facing the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic, the inter-sectoral association was proactive to set up plans to strengthen coordination in investigation and handling of crimes in accordance with the order and procedures of criminal proceedings, especially serious cases with public concern; economic and corruption cases under the supervision and direction of provincial Party Committee, ensuring compliance with legal provisions, not letting any wrongful arrests take place, or omitting criminals.
In 2021, the inter-sectoral association coordinated to receive and handle 4,260 crime denunciations; prosecuted and investigated 3,506 cases and 5,906 defendants; prosecuted 2,152 cases, 4,638 offenders; made first-instance trials for 1,977 cases, 3,831 defendants, carried out appellate trials for 165 cases, 266 defendants. The inter-sectoral association with two-level procedure coordinated to strictly comply with the law on arrest, temporary custody and detention. Provincial People’s Procuracy had good coordination, ensuring all cases under arrest and temporary detention that must comply with the law; did not let any wrongful arrests take place and there were no complaints about arrest and detention.
At the conference, representatives of the sectors had many opinions to solve obstacles to improve the efficiency of coordination in investigation, prosecution and trial activities in the coming time. On this occasion, the sectors also implemented an inter-sectoral coordination plan in investigation, prosecution and trial activities in 2022.
