Scientists confirm that everyone is risky of HIV/AIDS infection. In recent years, AIDS ‘pandemic’ has been undermined; however, HIV/AIDS is in every walk of life. To prevent such pandemic, for the time to come, the province has proposed movement of the whole public of preventing HIV/AIDS in the community with appreciable results.

Awards are being offered to individuals of high achievements in
the movement of the whole public in HIV/AIDS prevention from 2008 to
2012 In 2013, Department of Health and Fatherland Front Committee, and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have continued with the movement. In the past year, Fatherland Front Committee of the province has robustly mobilized the public to join movement of preventing HIV/AIDS in residential areas.Local quarters and hamlets have been built up with local regulations to build up model residential areas. All the communes, wards, and residential areas have proposed to integrate criteria of HIV/AIDS prevention activities to evaluation of cultural households and residential areas. Besides, all the unions have taken part into information dissemination and mobilization of local people to improve awareness of HIV/AIDS and practice HIV prevention measures in the community.In localities, model of HIV/AIDS prevention clubs and groups have been established with prominent emergence of H+ groups in Di An Town and Ben Cat District or the peer supporting group of prostitution.On the other hand, at quarters and hamlets, the major groups are in existence. Up to date, the province has 18 major groups established and under effective operation. Those groups are in charge of information dissemination and mobilizing local people to participate into HIV/AIDS prevention.The major group at Quarter 6 of Phu Cuong Ward in Thu Dau Mot City whose leader, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tho said: “Our main duties are to broadcast the danger of HIV/AIDS to avoid spreading in the community while creating opportunities for people infected by HIV/AIDS to lead better life without feeling down. The members of our group are for responsibilities and the heart of their own devotion.”In the past year, the coordination with departments and unions has been promoted by Center for HIV/AIDS prevention to contribute to deeper development of the movement.Particularly, the Center has coordinated with sectors and departments to organize many practical activities including the cooperation with Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in program of using condom to prevent HIV infection and STDs in 2013 to local accommodation services, coordination with Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to hold talks on HIV/AIDS prevention in major groups at An Thanh Ward and Lai Thieu Ward in Thuan An Town, coordination with Provincial Association of Farmers to hold training courses on HIV/AIDS prevention for members in Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen, and Phu Giao, coordination with Division of Population and Youth’s League to hold consultancy and free condom offering as well as blood test to young factory workers at fairs of VSIP, etc.Movement of the whole public preventing HIV/AIDS in Binh Duong Province has eyed great achievements in various practical activities.In the national action day of HIV/AIDS prevention in 2013, so as to drive the movement to deeper implementation and response of the public majority, various activities have been planned up including hanging up mottos, banderole, panel, posters, and left leaves in a bid support local police forces in maintaining urban order and controlling hot spots of addictive drug use.Mr. Nguyen Kieu Uyen, Director of the Center said: “Thanks to the care of local Party Committee, authority, departments, sectors, Life-gap, and global funding, the education and communication have been maintained in various forms. Accordingly, people’s awareness has been improved in terms of infection risks and necessary preventive measures. The HIV/AIDS prevention system has been frequently refined from the grassroots to provincial medical clinic.
