Implementing provincial Party Committee’s direction on the construction of Thu Dau Mot city under the criteria of "a zero-waste city" and responding to the Project on "Improving the quality of the “building up a cultural - civilized urban lifestyle” campaign, Phu My ward in Thu Dau Mot city has chosen the street DX37 for implementation of the “street without waste" model.
Under the project, Phu My ward has established an environmental self-management group of the street; equip trash cans and brooms for each household; distributed commitments and promoted propaganda activities via slogans, panels on streets. The ward has also mobilized people along the two sides of the street to plant flowers and trees, not encroach on sidewalks, regularly clean and sanitize, remove illegal ads. As for the daily waste collection, the ward has required units to collect waste on time. Waste collection trucks need to be equipped with loudspeakers and sirens so that people can drop litter on time.
Phu My ward is calling for the remaining quarters to implement streets without waste, then promoting all the local streets to implement the model.
