Thanks of the Fund for the Poor, hundreds of poor households across the province have got support policies in terms of housing, vocational training…, helping them rise up out of the poverty.
This result has came from the integral efforts by authorities at all levels, organizations and individuals in the province in response to the “Day for the Poor” campaign.

Upholding the tradition of “mutual love, mutual affection”, provincial Fatherland Front Committees (FFCs) at all levels and their membership organizations have taken good care of the lives of the poor. Provincial Mobilization Board of the Fund for the Poor has carried out a lot of practical activities for the poor, including providing free medical check-up, building great unity houses, presenting gifts on Tet and great holidays, awarding scholarships to poor pupils…
In 2014 alone, provincial Steering Board of the “Day for the Poor” has spent more than VND6.2bln on offering timely help to the poor. Provincial FFCs have upgraded and built 73 great unity houses; joined hands with their membership organizations to build 297 houses of compassion worth more than VND5.7bln. Many other support activities for the poor have also been organized by localities across the province.
The above efforts have contributed to reducing the number of poor households in the province under the new poverty line to 4,186 or 1.52% of total and the number of poor-near ones to 4,638 or 1.68% of total.
Nguyen Phung Trung, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the province has well realized socialization of the mobilization work in taking care of the poor. Provincial Fund for the Poor has brought into play its efficiency, contributing to well carrying out the national target on poverty reduction. The local poor households have also made efforts in rising up out of poverty.
Provincial FFCs have joined hands in taking care of the poor via many significant activities. As a result, in 2014, the province has mobilized nearly VND22bln from organizations and individuals to give care for policy beneficiary and poor households; provided free medical check-up and medicine for nearly 106,000 needy people with a total expense of more than VND12bln.
Mobilization work improved
Provincial Mobilization Board of the Day for the Poor has just mapped out its plan on mobilizing organizations and individuals to make contributions to the poor, thereby joining hands with the State to well realize the national target on poor reduction while improving the quality of the campaign.
According to Pham Hong Thang, Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union, the Mobilization Board needs to prepare photos and films about the operations of provincial Fund for the Poor and send them to enterprises and organizations. This will make the mobilization work get more effective.

Meanwhile, Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial FFC cum Deputy Head of provincial Mobilization Board of the Day for the Poor said that provincial Fund for the Poor has brought practical effects, creating a motivation for the local economic development and reducing the rate of the local poor households. For better results, provincial FFCs will further mobilize more organizations and individuals to offer help to the poor while diversifying support activities for them. The Mobilization Board will also consider and suggest functional agencies to pay tribute to enterprises making contributions to provincial Fund for the Poor…
