“Today kids, the world tomorrow”. To cultivate future owners of the country, Binh Duong province has attempted to take care of material and spiritual life of children, thereby, encourage them to learn and train to become exemplary citizens.
Animated International Children's Day
Responding to International Children's Day (June 1st), all levels have organized Children’s festive days, launched Action Month for Children. Accordingly, morning June 1st, Phu Loi ward of TDM City held the launching ceremony of Action Month for Children 2015. Youngsters played folk games, enjoyed cultural performances, and registered for summer activities, such as: learning soft skills, signing, dancing, English, and so on, at two schools: Phu Loi primary school and Nguyen Viet Xuan secondary school.
Also in the morning of June 1st, provincial Children Sponsoring Fund handed over children playground project to Long Nguyen primary school (Bau Bang district). 3-2 Investment and Construction Co. sponsored the project with total cost of VND100 million in order to create a true entertainment space after learning hours. . In addition, provincial Children Sponsoring Fund offered gifts to 200 disadvantaged children in Bau Bang district with total cost of VND65 million.

Provincial Children Sponsoring Fund in collaboration with provincial Lottery Company visited and gave gifts to 2 children suffering with serious diseases. Nguyen Dong Thanh learning at Nguyen Van Cu secondary school in Chanh My ward, TDM City. Thanh has a dream to become a doctor to cure poor patients. But now, he is suffering blood cancer. His family is poor. Parents have to work to bring up 2 children and pay chemotherapy fees 3 times/week of Thanh. Therefore, provincial Children Sponsoring Fund encouraged provincial Lottery Company to give long-term support to Thanh.
On the occasion of International Children's Day, Ben Cat town launched “Children with HIV/AIDS preventing, fighting" Club and gave presents; organized special talk with the theme of children protection and caring 2015; launched Action Month for Children. Tan Uyen town also launched “Children with HIV/AIDS preventing, fighting" Club. According to Mr. Ho Quang Diep, Director of Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (LISA), the department visited, gave 1,200 presents worth VND150,000 each to children of “Children with HIV/AIDS preventing, fighting" Clubs in Thuan An town, Ben Cat town, Tan Uyen town, and TDM City.

Implementing directives on strengthening children protecting, caring, and children national programs, Binh Duong has issued many documents to direct sectors, agencies to devise plans combined with children protecting, caring; People’s Committees of all levels to integrate children protecting, caring into local socioeconomic development programs. The province also issued policies supporting social beneficiaries, especially orphans, abandoned children, children infected by HIV / AIDS, poor children. Therefore, disadvantaged children in the province have been better cared.
Agencies, sectors, units, organizations, individuals in the province have joined hands to support children. On occasion of Lunar New Year 2015, provincial Department of LISA visited, gave 23,800 gifts to children of policy beneficiaries, poor families, and children with special circumstances. Total expenses was VND3.5 billion including VND1.6 billion of governmental budget, and VND1.9 billion contributed by benefactors.
Provincial Children Sponsoring Fund has made a lot contribution to children protecting, caring. The fund has been spread at all levels to become important resources to take care of children. In 2014, the fund developed meaningful programs, such as: Spring and disadvantaged Children, Mid-Autumn Festival, scholarships offering, free dental check-up and treatment, program “Every compassionate heart adds wing to a dream”. These activities supported 3,173 children with total expense of more than VND5.3 billion.

Apart from supporting children’s material life, works to take care of children’s spiritual life has been also focused. Children's Houses of all levels open regularly talents classes to serve children’s needs of learning and playing. Sectors of culture, sports, tourism, and provincial Youth Union have organized many children activities, such as: painting on ceramic contest, books introducing, children cultural shows, children fashion contest, summer activities, and so on. Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Ha living in TDM City said: “I’m a worker. My family has many economic difficulties. But due to attention of government, my child received presents, scholarships, and had fun on special occasions. I am also happy as seeing my child is growing”.
Mr. Ho Quang Diep said, in the future, LISA Department will continue to implement well provincial programs, like: Action programs for Children in period of 2013-2020; Child Protection Program in period of 2011-2015… The department will also open training courses of children protecting and caring for officials of all levels. In addition, the department will advise provincial leaderships to visit, offer gifts to disadvantaged children on special occasions; coordinate with other sectors and agencies to organize activities, contests, playgrounds for provincial children to raise all levels and people’s awareness of children protecting and caring; encourage and mobilize contributions from benefactors to take care comprehensively of children’s material and spiritual life.
