Duong has encountered labor disputes, strikes and go-slows. To minimize strikes
and labor disputes, the provincial department of Labor, War Invalids and Social
Affairs has held many training classes on collective negotiation skills, labor
dispute settlement skills for local businesses.

Based on a survey, owing to price hike of essential items such as food, electricity, water and so on, local laborers’ life has been impacted directly. Although laborers’ income has been improved, their income has yet to keep pace with price storm. Meanwhile, impacts on inflation, price hike of petrol, electricity and water have made local and foreign businesses face numerous obstacles. In the pressure of profit, some local businesses have yet to obey regulations of Labor Code.
To minimize strikes and go-slows, the department has held many training classes across localities of Ben Cat, Tan Uyen district and Di An, Thuan An and Thu Dau Mot towns from Oct. 18 – Nov. 24.
At the training classes, mediators have imparted skills and experiences of solving labor disputes at grassroot levels and so on. In addition, the department has steered its branches to make a survey on laborers’ life, hold dialogues between local leaders and laborers in a bid to grasp employees and employers’ aspirations.
