Early March 26, more than 1,000 candidates participated in the first round of the aptitude test for Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh city (VNU-HCM) 2023 at Eastern International University (EIU). This is the first time EIU has cooperated with VNU-HCM to organize a competency assessment exam in Binh Duong. EIU is the examination site No. 72.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trong, Vice-Principal of EIU, Head of the examination cluster said that VNU-HCM’s competency assessment exam is one of the important examinations for 12th graders. The admission by scores from the exam is also one of the four methods of EIU's admission in 2023. Therefore, over the past time, EIU’s Council and Management Board directed the school’s specialized units to mobilize human resources to fully perform all tasks for the examination.
Earlier, at a meeting with EIU about coordination in organization of the examination, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center of Educational Testing and Evaluation of VNU-HCM said that the 2023 competency assessment exam held in Binh Duong in general and EIU in particular will help parents and students in Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Dak Nong and neighboring provinces to save time, cost while having the best preparation for high results.
In 2023, EIU is expected to enroll 1,160 students in 8 majors, including business administration; economy; electrical engineering; control engineering and automation; mechatronic engineering; software technology; computer networks and data communication and nursing at the demand for high-quality human resources. Especially, the school also offers scholarships for candidates who are admitted to the school by the results of the competency assessment exam. Particularly, candidates with the exam results of 800 out of 1,200 scores or more will have the opportunity to receive a scholarship of VND 10 million; Candidates with results from 850 out of 1,200 points or more have the opportunity to receive scholarships worth VND 20 million each or full scholarships covering all tuition fees for 4 years of study and the tuition fee of 1,000 hours of English with native teachers at the school.
