Businesses announce Tet bonus plans
In the recent days, Binh Duong-based hundreds of businesses announced Tet bonus plans for laborers. The Tet bonus is to show employers’ attention and to encourage laborers. These businesses will grant Tet bonuses for laborers from Jan. 10 to Feb. 6, 2013.
Becamex Mineral JSC general director Vu Dinh Dang, said “In 2012, despite difficulties, Becamex Mineral JSC in An Binh commune, Phu Giao district made greater efforts to place stable jobs for over 130 cadres and laborers. Notably, hi-unity between the company directorate and laborers contributed to win the set goals. To bring a warm Tet holiday for laborers, the company directorate in Dec. 2012 set out a Tet bonus plan for them. Accordingly, Tet bonus levels for the company laborers in 2013 are equal to the previous year. The highest and lowest Tet bonuses at this company would be VND18 million and VND1 million, respectively. In these days, the company laborers are very excited after announcement of Tet bonus plan and Tet days-off”.
“Entering in 2013, the company will continue excelling allowances for laborers by creating a safe working environment, holding periodical medical check-ups for workers”, Dang added.
Tet bonus plan for 22,783 employees of Foster Vietnam Co.Ltd. was just announced. To encourage laborers to return after Tet holiday, the company directorate decided to pay half a month salary bonus with a minimum payment to those who return to work.
Sai Gon Stec Co.Ltd. has so far had Tet bonus plans for laborers with the highest and lowest levels of VND31,350,000 and VND2,650,000, respectively. In 2012, the company increased investment capital from VND165mil to VND340mil and expanded one more production workshop as well as increased employees from 6,000 to nearly 9,000.
Workers helped get home for Tet
Some businesses announce Tet days-off lasting from Feb. 6-17, 2013. In the coming Tet holiday, Binh Duong Apparel One-member Co.Ltd. will arrange for buses to take employees to their hometowns. “In the early morning of Feb. 4, 25 buses will take 870 laborers to their hometowns. Over the past 10 years, the company has arranged to take employees to their hometowns on Tet. Thanks to the significant deed, our human resources has been stabilized after Tet holiday”, said Nguyen Hong Anh from Binh Duong Apparel One-member Co.Ltd.

Or, bus tickets are annually given to laborers to help them get home for Tet. The bus tickets are granted by the Central Youth Union’s standing committee and Youth Newspaper and Kinh Do JSC. The “Kinh Do brings Tet to home” program is a special Tet gift of Kinh Do JSC for alien workers.
Meanwhile, the provincial Labor Union will continue holding buses to take trade unionists to their hometowns. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, chairwoman of the provincial Industrial Parks’ Trade Union, said “To encourage alien workers to return after Tet, the trade union’s standing board suggested local Labor Union to arrange 100 buses to take poor workers to their home.
According to the provincial department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, as of Jan. 14, 2013, Binh Duong had 809 businesses reporting Tet bonus plans for laborers with the highest level of VND350mil at FDI companies and VND60mil at local ones.
