Enhancing the spiritual life of young workers

Under provincial Project on Uniting and Gathering Young Workers, activities aimed at improving the spiritual life of young workers and laborers have continued being organized by various units and localities in diverse, practical and effective forms.

"Weekend playground" program

The "Weekend Playground" program, launched by provincial Youth Activity Center under provincial Youth Union, was recently kicked off in Di An city. This is a series of events held at multiple locations throughout the province, contributing to the effective implementation of Vietnam Workers’ Month and provincial Week of Young Workers. The program aims at creating an entertaining and healthy community space for young workers and laborers.

Di An city’s Youth Union present gifts to young workers

In Dong Hoa and Tan Binh wards  of Di An city, the “Weekend Playground” featured lively folk games that helped young workers and laborers relieve stress after long working hours. Alongside the games, musical activities also contributed to a vibrant atmosphere, bringing joy to young people, Youth Union members, young workers and the children of workers living in residential areas and boarding houses in the two wards. In addition, the program included health care consultations, career development and life balance advice, job placement services, legal and family counseling and career orientation. These activities offered young workers the opportunity to gain knowledge and exchange experiences to improve their quality of life and work.

Besides the “Weekend Playground” organized by provincial Youth Activity Center, other affiliated units under the direction of provincial Youth Union Standing Committee have also held various cultural, artistic and legal counseling activities for young workers at model youth lodging facilities, social housing areas and worker-concentrated rental areas throughout the province. These include programs such as “Happy Sunday”, “Weekend Playground” and “Weekend Young Workers’ Street” as well as communication campaigns on food safety and hygiene, themed talks on traffic culture, communication skills and healthcare support activities for young workers.

At the same time, provincial Youth Unions at all levels have proactively organized “Young Workers’ Days” to provide care and support to young workers and their children through meaningful and practical activities.

Creating a bonding environment

This year’s Vietnam Workers’ Month and Young Workers’ Week have been actively embraced by Youth Unions and Associations across the province through a wide range of cultural, artistic, sports and physical exchange activities. These aim at offering accessible entertainment opportunities closely aligned with the lives of young workers and laborers.

Last weekend, Di An city’s Youth Union and Youth Federation organized a football exchange program for Youth Union members, young workers, ethnic minority youth and religious followers. The event created a healthy sporting space and enhanced solidarity among young participants. On this occasion, the city’s Youth Union and Youth Federation also presented 20 gifts worth VND 500,000 each to the children of young workers from ethnic minority and religious backgrounds, helping spread human values and uplift the spirit of young workers.

In addition to sports events, district-level Youth Union organizations also hosted music competitions for young workers. Notably, Thu Dau Mot city’s Youth Union organized the "Young Workers’ Singing Contest", featuring songs that praise the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and the Vietnamese people as well as songs in praise of Binh Duong province, young workers, laborers... Furthermore, grassroots Youth Unions in the province have actively organized musical, fitness and sports activities for youth sub-unions and youth associations at lodging facilities. These events have helped young workers improve their physical well-being, enjoy leisure time and strengthen bonds between Youth Unions, organizations and workers living at lodging facilities.

These cultural, artistic, sports and recreational activities serve as essential “spiritual nourishment” to opportunely support and care for young workers and laborers. It is hoped that such attention will bring more joy and happiness to members, young workers, migrant laborers and empower them to strive to rise up in life.

This year’s Vietnam Workers’ Month and Young Workers’ Week have seen great attention from Youth Unions and Associations in organizing a wide range of cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities, aiming at creating a familiar recreational environment for young workers and laborers.
