Binh Duong new city center became splendid with lights and flowers in the evening of Dec.29 of lunar calendar. Thousands of people flocked to this place to attend a festival to welcome New Year’s Eve.
It is known that from Dec.28, 2011 to Jan.5, 2012 of lunar calendar, residents in Binh Duong enjoyed a series of arts and cultural activities to welcome the lunar New Year 2012.
One of the most significant things was that every one had enough conditions to enjoy a joyful and cozy Tet. This came from the province’s efforts in realizing policies for social policy beneficiaries and poor people.

Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations also mobilized more than VND8bln to take care of poor people, children with difficult circumstance, young workers…during Tet.
Under the program of “Tet for the poor”, provincial Red Cross Society presented 19,459 Tet gifts worth more than VND5.2bln to the poor, the disabled, Agent Orange victims, children with difficult circumstance and social policy beneficiaries.
Province-based businesses also paid more attention to taking care of workers during Tet. Most of them offered Tet bonuses to their staff with the levels higher then previous year. They also organized year-end parties and presented Tet gifts to their staff with a total expense of more than VND31bln; provided their staff with trips back home for Tet with a total expense of nearly VND10bln…
Market stability
The effective implementation of policies on market price stability also contributed to helping the local people enjoy a more cozy Tet. With good preparation, businesses had an adequate supply of Tet commodities with high quality and nice designs at customers’ demand.
The province’s price stability program continued being implemented in rural areas with 82 mobile sales outlets. The People’s Committees of districts and towns organized Tet markets and 1,230 outlets on fruits, ornamental flowers, confectionary…at the local people’s demand for shopping during Tet.
Order and security maintained
The province ensured order and security on Tet days. Especially, there were only one traffic accidents, decreasing by 5 compared to previous year.
The local functional agencies also strengthened patrols to ensure order and security during Tet, contributing to bringing the local people a cozy, joyful, safe, economical and civilized Tet.
