Statistics from provincial Irrigation Department and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that as of March 10, the water levels at reservoirs of Dau Tieng, Tri An, Thac Mo, Can Don, Srokphumieng, Can Nom, Suoi Giai, Dan Ban and Doc Nhan measured 21.13m, 58.69m, 211m, 105.52m, 71.48m, 13.75m, 61m, 31.9m and 22.8m, respectively.
Nguyen Khanh Truong, deputy head of provincial Irrigation Department said that the water levels of the above reservoirs were lower than the corresponding period of last year, but they will still ensure enough water supply for this year’s winter-spring crop. Communes with water scarcity, including Phu Giao’s An Binh, An Long, Tan Long, An Thai, Dau Tieng’s Minh Thanh, Dinh An, Minh Hoa, Minh Tan and Tan Uyen’s Dat Cuoc and Tan Binh will not be affected by the water scarcity as farmers herein have got involved in restructuring their crops that do not have demand for water irrigation.
